Dalia sat up on the hospital bed slowly and painfully. Her body felt sore, really sore. The room was empty except for Blake sitting in the chair beside her.

He was sleeping but she recognized him as the stranger she met twice now. Three if you count this separately. His head lifted from his hand and he saw that she had woken up.

"The doctors said it might be a while before you woke up. Looks like they were wrong." He said to her.

"You don't have to be here." Dalia responded unsure if he was a good person or not. Blake knew her all too well though. "I wont hurt you or anything, and I don't have bad intentions either. I'm sorry if I seemed strange before."

    "Strange is an understatement."

"You remind me of someone I know."

"Do you not like this person?"

Blake thought for a moment. "Actually she was really special to me, and I think I was to her to. But something unfortunate happened one night that I couldn't stop and her dad hated me after that." He explained with careful words. "Special" she repeated when he finished. The word echoed in her head. -I was special to someone in my dream. At least I think I was.-

Silence swept across the room until Dalia finally broke it. "Why didn't you guys run away then?" She curiously asked. Again Blake thought about his choice of words.

"Well ya see...." He paused before continuing. "...Her dad might have hated me but she lived with her mom and siblings to. I couldn't ask her to leave them for me. Besides, I think shes living a better life now. This is all in the past."

Dalia looked at him forming her own answer to the situation. "If this was a long time ago you should reach out to her. Who knows if she even lives with her dad anymore. My dad married someone else after divorcing my mom a little less than two years ago."

Blake averted his gaze looking in the other direction. This news was like music to his ears. -Her dad is really gone from the picture? I should....no. The doctors said forcing the memory would most likely result in never getting them back. Wait, could that be why she doesn't remember? Is she trying to force it? Next chance I get I have to lead her into telling me about it so I can ask.-

"Are you ok?" A concerned Dalia asked. Blake fixed his face and turned back to her. "Yeah you're right. I should try to find her but im afraid that she'll never remember me."

-Why does he say it like that?- "Im sure if she cared about you enough then she will, but don't leave it all to her. You gotta jog her memory to."

Blake let out a quick breath of air through his nose. -The irony- He thought.

"Was that a partial laugh I heard?" Dalia asked brightening up. "No that was the wind." He said pointing to the window. "The window isn't even open." She found herself laughing and talking which she herself was curious about. She was better with people nowadays but not this good.

Just then a doctor walked in to give Dalia some medication. "Alright Mr. and Mrs. Pate." She said grabbing her clipboard then looked at Dalia. "You're recovering well. You seem to be putting too much stress on your brain which is why you passed out. The average person can normally stand a lot more but due to your accident about two years ago, you are more fragile."

The doctor flipped through the papers on the clip board as she explained. Dalia put her head down and focused her gaze on her hands. She was embarrassed about the accident. -If.....wait I forgot to ask him his name. I hope he doesn't get curious about the accident and ask, even I don't know the answer.-

She looked at Blake but stopped herself before any words cane out. -I can't ask him in front of the doctor, she'll wonder especially after thinking we're married.-

As if reading her mind the doctor said she'd get the discharge papers and be back shortly.

Again, Dalia turned to Blake. This time she said what was on her mind. "I...I meant to ask your name. I waited till the doctor left so she didn't wonder about us being fake married."

"Blake, and no I told them you were my sister." He responded. Dalia's eyes widened and she blushed a light blush. -AH, that was embarrassing.-

Blake laughed at her response, "im just messing with you. I did say we were married."

Dalia shot a glare at him. He read her face which clearly said *What normal human would do such a thing?*

After the Dalia filled out all of the discharge papers, she and Blake walked out the exit of the hospital. "Wait how'd the doctors know all my info?" She faced suspiciously. He quickly thought of something "I had your wallet for an entire day, I never said I didn't look at your ID or anything."

"Yeah yeah, let me buy you something. I wont feel right until I do."

"I've got a girlfriend." Blake lied instinctively from other women constantly trying to get with him.

"I'm not trying to date you. I don't even know you very well, im just repaying you for your kindness."

-Ow that really stung Dalia.- "For all I know, this could be your elaborate scheme to get with me." He continued. "Fine, but I want dinner at one place and ice cream at another."

"Says the guy who's got a girlfriend." She followed Blake all the way to his truck and realized she was talking more and more. She forgot her worries as words flowed smoothly out of her mouth. It wasn't until Blake opened the passenger door for her that she thought about how she got there but by then it was safe to assume that he had brought her there.
