Hailey saw Mark, who had been sitting on the sofa obediently, immediate run to Edward. Edward then put a bowl of dog foot beside its mouth.

“Bark… Bark…” Mark shook its tail toward Edward to show its gratefulness.

“Ur, I have a question. You just called it Jill?” Hailey was shocked by the name. Edward named the dog another name! And they seemed to be quite familiar with each other!

“Yes. What’s the problem? Did you name it another name?” Edward replied with a leisure tone as he glanced at her casually.

“…Ur, no!” Hailey took the cup on the table and poured the tea into her mouth one after another.

What the hell? I am very unhappy with the name of Jill! This is my pet and I named it Mark! I’ve been always calling it Mark. How could he name it another name! Hailey thought. However, she could not share her thought with him.

She felt so bad but she could not tell anything to him.

Hailey then took a look at the dog and the man on the sofa. Somehow, she felt that this was really a lovely picture.

The tiny and cute Mark seemed to be more arrogant when it was sitting next to the handsome Edward.

One took on the color of one’s company. That was true.

“So, Edward, you like it, right? That’s why you saved it from Sully and took it back here,” Hailey said, her voice uncertain.

“Yes.”

“Oh, I see.”

The space then fell silent. Hailey took the cup and took a sip of the tea again. “Edward, here is the thing. I know that your entertainment company is recruiting an assistant. You know, I just took the examination and I am very free these days. Could you please do me this favor and let me work as an intern there?”

Hailey felt so sorry. How she wished she could take it away.

“Are you even not trying to insist a bit now that you want to do it?” Edward teased at that point in time. The taunt in his voice irritated Hailey to some degree.

She turned around and glared at Edward who was sitting on the sofa elegantly. “If you don’t do me this favor, I can apply for it myself. Everyone says that you are a smart man who can recognize the potential. It seems that you are not as smart as they say.”

The moment Hailey finished her words, the atmosphere grew tense at once.

There was a hint of seriousness flashing through Edward’s eyes. Was this young lady questioning his ability?

Standing beneath the chandelier, Hailey looked like an angel. Her fair skin on the face was reflecting soft milky light. There was anger yet arrogance and stubbornness in her pretty eyes.

Edward felt a little bit dazed. It seemed that this young lady standing in front of him was the same woman he had in his heart. Suddenly, he felt his heart prickle badly. It hurt so much.

Soon, he recovered from the surprise. The next second, he walked to Hailey and stopped beside her. Before Hailey would even make any response, he stretched his hands with one holding the back of her head and the other raising her chin.

Danger and tenderness mixed in his eyes. He stared at her carefully as if he was going to see through her. “Why do you want to do this job? I can support you financially anyway.”

Hailey became nervous due to his sudden intimate behavior. “What do you want?”

Edward lifted the corners of his lips and said in a sexy tone, “I want to see through you and know what you are thinking.”

Hailey was stunned a bit. Immediately, a smile spread on her face. “I’m going to be an adult soon. I just want to be a little bit independent,” she said with her smiling face as she looked at him into his eyes.

Unexpectedly, her reply made Edward react strangely. He opened his eyes wide. There seemed to be a hint of admiration in his eyes.

What is he thinking about? Why is he reacting so abnormally? Hailey pondered anxiously.

She did not ask further because she was afraid to mention the topic he did not want to talk about.

When she was lost in her mind, Edward suddenly reached out and touched her head. Immediately, Hailey felt that an electric current ran through her body. She could not help screaming with a low voice, “Oh…”

Edward fixed his passionate eyes on her. Hailey wrinkled her eyebrows a bit. She was not quite comfortable facing such a strange Edward.
