After Edward left the house and went to work, Hailey went out with a bag at her back. She did not ask the driver to drive her out. Instead, she chose the public transportation.
She walked down the mountain alone happily. Then it took her half an hour to locate where the bus stop was. She waited for a while before the bus heading for the downtown arrived.
After she got on the bus, she chose herself a seat next to the window. Then she put on the earplugs and began to search for a detective agency on her phone. In her past life, she used to cooperate with a detective agency. She had searched for it online yesterday, but only to found that that agency had not been established yet. So she decided to find another detective agency. That was the main purpose she came out today.
When she was close to downtown, she finally decided which agency she would visit. It was not far away from downtown.
After she got off, she did not rush to that agency. Instead, she wandered casually on the streets and bought something that she liked. When she finally arrived at that detective agency, she had already had several shopping bags on her hands.
That detective agency’s name was X. It was located on some floor in the middle of a high-rise office building. When Hailey pushed to door open and walked inside, she saw many people there.
The woman at the reception immediately stood up to welcome Hailey.
“Hello, Miss. How may I help you?” greeted the woman passionately. She did not look down upon Hailey because of her youth.
Hailey, on the other hand, nodded politely. “I have a B-level case that I would like to discuss with the person in charge,” she said.
The reception was a little bit surprised to hear such words. She had never expected that a young girl who seemed to be a high school student knew the classification of the cases in a detective agency. Ordinary people would not know all of this, after all.
“Yes, please follow me,” she answered immediately. The reception did not keep asking further. She then took Hailey into a quiet meeting room. “Please wait here for a few moments. The person in charge will come here in a short time.”
“Thank you,” Hailey said with a polite voice.
Not long before the reception walked out of the room, a beautiful woman walked in with a cup of coffee in her hand. The coffee was for her guest, of course. When she saw Hailey, a young girl, she raised her eyebrows. “Which one do you prefer? Coffee or juice?” she asked as she pointed at the coffee.
“Coffee would be okay. Thank you,” Hailey replied.
She took out a file pocket from her bag and passed it to the woman.
“I’d like to hire you to spy on someone. These are all his information,” Hailey said straightforwardly.
The woman took a glance at the pocket and said, “And then?”
Hailey let out a smile. But what she said was all those cruel words. She said, “And then make him lose all the reputation and burn in hell!”

After Hailey left the agency and walked out of that building, she looked up at the clear and blue sky and smiled happily.
Philip Lin! That was her target. She was very curious that without the help of her - a stupid woman, how far that bastard would go in the business world.
Standing on the street with all those shopping bags in her hands, Hailey was about to hail a taxi to go home. Suddenly, an eye-catching red sports car roared past.
The next second, the owner of the car slammed the brakes on and backed off before it stopped in front of her.
The window was pulled down. A handsome young man poked his head out of the car and asked with a smile, “Hey, Hailey. Where are you going? I can drive give you a ride.”
Hailey took a glance at him and did not know who he was. But it seemed that he was a student of the No. 1 High School. Hailey did not like the students from that school at all. So she just replied with a distant voice, “That’s not necessary. Thank you. Sorry, I must leave.”
She then walked forward, intending to get away from him.
“Wow, Gary. She just turned you down!” the others in the car jeered.
“She is really a pretty, isn’t she? If we bring her there, I’m sure someone will be willing to pay for her,” another man said as he touched his chin.
Garry, the owner of the car, was quite unhappy when he was teased. “Bring her to where?” he asked with a cold face.
That man let out a meaningful smile. “I’ve heard that she is an orphan and is very poor. We are offering her a chance to earn some money,” he said evilly. “Oh, Gary, if my memory serves me right, you will be able to be promoted to a senior member as long as you bring another one girl there. Am I right?”
Gary became interested. He turned back to look at Hailey who was not far away and squinted his eyes. “Are you sure about the information about her family?” he asked to confirm.
That man blinked his eyes and shrugged his shoulders. “Everyone knows about the situation of her family,” he replied.
Gary rolled his eyeballs and thought for a few moments. Afterward, he started the car and approached Hailey. Once again, he poked his head out and said, “Hey, Hailey. Actually I’m wondering if you can do me a favor. My sister’s birthday is coming soon. I want to buy her a gift. But I am a man and I don’t really know what kind of gift a girl would like. So I want you to help me and pick up one. There is a shopping mall nearby. It won’t take too long. Can you help me, please?”
They were in the public now. Gary was not bold enough to kidnap her on the street. So he decided to tell a lie.
Hailey refused him again with an indifferent voice. “Sorry, I’m busy.”
“I will pay you five grand per hour. How about this?” Gary kept trying.
“What about ten grand?” he offered again.
Hailey did not make any response.
“Thirty grand! Isn’t that enough?” He offered a higher price.
Hailey was speechless. That was really generous of him! But she would never fall into his trap. She was not that stupid.
“Fine. How many do you want? Just tell me. I’m rich, anyway.”
There wasn’t any free taxi passing by. Plus, there was this annoying man making noises all the time. Hailey began to lose her patience. She walked while taking out her phone, ready to call the driver to pick her up here.
Gary grew angry when he saw Hailey did not make any response to him after all those prices he offered. “Bitch! Stop being an innocent woman! I know why you went to the No. 1 High School. There are so many rich boys there. So your purpose is to hook up someone, isn’t it? I know this kind of woman like you very much. I’m offering you the price, so just be wise and take it!” Gary cursed hatefully.
Hailey stopped walking. She turned around and raised her finger to him. “Get off,” she said.
Gary was confused. “What?” he blurted out.
Hailey smiled. “Get off and let’s talk about the money.”
A smile immediately crept on Gary’s lips. He got off the car and walked to her. “Thirty grands per hour. That’s the final offer. Let’s go,” he said as he reached out his hand, intending to pull her to his car
Hailey dodged his hand. Gary held his anger inside and said, “Not enough? Fine, fifty grands…”
Hailey said in a distant tone, “One million.”
Gary paused when he heard the price. “One million? Don’t you think it’s too high? You are not worth one million at all. Who the fuck do you think you are?”
Hailey put down the shopping bags on the ground and turned around. She bent over and picked up a stone. Then she weighed the stone in her hand and smiled at Gary brightly. “Don’t worry. That’s not the price you should pay me. That’s my offer as your funeral expense.” When she uttered the last few words, her face grew dark immediately. Then she raised the stone and struck him on the head forcefully.
Gary screamed in pain at once. Blood began to gush out from his head.
Hailey did not recognize him at the beginning. But when he kept talking to her, she finally remembered something about him. He seemed to be one of the core members who were involved in the sex scandal of the No. 1 High School in the past life.
Hailey thought of his attitude when he tried everything to make her get in his car, and she realized that he was exactly trying to abduct her.
The suspects of that sex scandal were none other than some high school students. Those students were born into rich or powerful families. They used all the methods they could figure out to cheat those innocent girls to their places and force or trick them to agree to allow them to sell their virginity in auctions. There were more than three hundred victims. The members of their club could improve their grades in the club by bringing girls for auction. They would be able to enjoy more services if their grades were higher.
Hailey was not a blindly kind-hearted people. So when she was reborn and came back, the very first thing she thought about was to stay away from that school as early as possible. She had never considered muckraking it. If she exposed this matter to the media, many girls would be saved from the sex auction. However, her original thought was that all she wanted to protect was the one she cared about, and that she did not want to bother herself caring for those irrelative people.
But it seemed that she could not hold her feeling of justice anymore.
Seeing those angry boys dashing to her, Hailey sighed helplessly, the stone still in her hand.
To be frank, she really wanted to be a good girl and did not want to bring any trouble for Edward. But there was always someone who tried to find fault with her.
Fighting back was her only choice.
