In the police station, Hailey rested her hands beneath her chin and let out a melancholy sigh.

She only came back for two days. But she had already fought with others twice. This time, she was brought to the police station for beating others.

That was absolutely not her intention.

She had sworn to be a good girl!

When Hailey was lost in her thoughts, the door of the chief’s room opened.

“Thank you, Mr. Li, Mr. He. We will definitely investigate it and figure out everything. Don’t worry,” the police chief said with a smile on the face. Two men in the suit walked out of the room. One of them was Edward’s assistant, Duke Li, and the other one was a lawyer, Greg He. “And please tell Mr. Zhang that everything will be okay. Miss Su was protecting herself. That was a justifiable defense. What’s more, Miss Su provides us with very useful information. Once we confirm it, Miss Su will be the main contributor to that case!”

After the chief finished his words, he cast an admiring look at Hailey.

Hailey stood up and smiled shyly. “That’s what I am supposed to do as a citizen,” she said.

She had never intended to be a good citizen who was brave enough to report a criminal behavior. But she also understood that it would be difficult to deal with it when she hit four men badly on the street. So she chose to tell the police everything about what those people were doing illegally to make amends by good deeds.

Duke Li then turned to Hailey and asked, “Everything is all right now. Will you continue going shopping or will you go back?”

“Let’s go home,” Hailey replied. She immediately took the shopping bags on the ground, ready to leave this place as soon as possible. She did not want to stay here to hear the chief’s impassioned statement anymore.

After the three of them left the police station, the smile on the chief’s face disappeared immediately. He ordered his subordinate, “Inform everyone that we will have a meeting half an hour later. No one is allowed to be late!”

The moment Hailey arrived home, she began to distribute the presents she bought today.

“Louis, this if for you, a massager. Doris, this shawl fits your skin perfectly. Ruby, you are a young girl and this hairband just suits you well. I remember that you said you like it when reading a magazine…”

In the living room, all the servants were standing with a strange facial expression when they held the presents Hailey just gave to them. Some of them even looked outside to check if the sun rose from the west today…

“Today,” Louis replied.

When they were speaking, a beautiful red sports car came and stopped in front of the gate. A sexy beautiful woman with red lipstick got out of the car. She took off her sunglasses, put one of her hands on the hip, and raised her eyebrows as she said, “Edward, are you not going to greet me?”

Edward cast an indifferent look at her and said, “This month's allowance is halved.”

This woman was Rachael Zhang, Edward’s elder sister.

Rachael immediately pulled her hand off the hip and walked elegantly towards him with a beautiful smile on the face. “No, my dear younger brother. I was just kidding. Rachael raised her eyebrows and reached out one finger. “Come downstairs,” she said as she hooked her finger.

Hailey looked around in the living room and did not see Edward. She then quickly ran downstairs and rush to Rachael happily. She hurried her head in Rachael’s chest and said, “Rachael, I am so happy to see you. When did you come back?”

Rachael raised one of her eyebrows again. She scratched Hailey’s chin with her index finger and said, “That sounds so sweet. Say it again?”

Rachael had not seen her for quite a long time. She had never anticipated that Hailey, who had been so aggressive, had turned to be so cute and lovely. If she did not see the same face, she would have thought this passionate Hailey was actually someone else.

“Rachael, Rachael, Rachael…” Hailey did as what Rachael said. Her eyes grew red gradually.

I’m happy that you are still alive, Rachael, Hailey thought.

There were two daughters and one son of the Zhang Family. Edward was the youngest child and Rachael was the second child. They had an elder sister who married a foreigner and lived abroad since then. She rarely came back.

Hailey’s mother was gone when she was very young. When her father died, she turned to Rachael. Rachael was the only person Hailey thought she could rely on. She had a bright personality. Meanwhile, she was elegant and gentle to her. She was almost like her mother.

Later, she was adopted by Edward. Rachael had proposed to take care of her. She understood that Hailey might dislike it when she had to live with Edward because of her father’s death. In that situation, Hailey would never listen to Edward no matter what he said. Rachael was certain that Hailey and Edward would not get along. So, Hailey agreed to live with Rachael.

However, despite the fact the Rachael took really carefully of her, Hailey still became very sensitive living in another woman’s place. That was not her home, after all. She felt inferior and thought people were laughing at her wherever she went. As a result, she behaved aggressively and madly in Rachael’s house to pretend that she was strong.

At that point in time, a close friend of Rachael who was living abroad was seriously sick. So Rachael went abroad to visit her friend. She was too busy to take care of Hailey anymore, especially when she was absent. So she was left with no choice but send Hailey to the Zhang Residence.
