The Cinderella with no Crystal Stilettos

*Update every other day* In her past life, her beauty was destroyed and her skin got burnt in the fire when she saved a man. Her boyfriend, with whom she grew up, broke up with her! She thought she could still live and move on without love. At least she still had her beloved parents. However, her world grew darker when her ex-boyfriend showed up with his new girlfriend. He told her parents that she was not their biological daughter and that his new girlfriend was their true daughter. Why? She didn't understand. Later, she was kicked out of her family by her parents. Legs broken, she came across the man whom she had saved from the fire. His skin was also burnt. He was kicked out of his family, too. But fortunately, his legs remained intact. For the next ten years, they lived together in a shabby small room and supported each other. They did not have any recourse of income, so they spent most of their time collecting the garbage and selling them to earn some money. Before long, she died. But strangely, she felt that she was still breathing. She struggled to open her eyes, only to see a pink room appearing in front of her eyes…

    Chapter 23 The Awkward Meal

The awkward atmosphere continued. Finally, the meal was over.

Veronica and Harrison talked happily three meters away from Jasper and Cheryl. They seemed to completely forget their fiance and fiancee.

Jasper and Cheryl, on the other side, looked at each other, wordless. That was where the awkward atmosphere came from.

As a matter of fact, Veronica only talked about what she ate last weekends, which movie she watched, stuff like that. Nothing special.

Jasper could not bear it anymore. As a man, he knew what Harrison was thinking. He saw the affection in Harrison's eyes. His smile was not a fake one when he faced Cheryl. Seeing Veronica laughing happily, Jasper felt worried. He and Cheryl walked towards Veronica and Harrison.

Before they approached, Veronica glance at them with the corner of her eye. She lifted the corners of her mouth upwards, forming a sneer. "I saw it, when you smiled at Cheryl. What a simper," she whispered.

Gazing at her, Harrison smiled sincerely. "My smile towards you is from the heart."

"Actually you can stop it if you don't want to smile." Veronica shook her head.

"You, too," Harrison replied with a low voice.

They exchanged a look with each other and then laughed.

When faced with those people, they were extremely unwilling to smile. But when they met with each other, they just could not hold their smiling faces. Happiness was on their faces, in their eyes and hearts because they loved each other.

They had spent a long time in the restaurant. Jasper drove Veronica home. When they arrived at the Rou family, it was quite late.

Anna held Jasper's hand and said with a kind smile, "Jasper, it's very late now. Why don't you stay tonight? I'll have the room clean. It won't take a long time."

Crystal was cleaning the vase. When she heard Anna's invitation, her hands trembled for a second. Her pale face somehow blushed a bit. Her ears also turned red. Lost in her thought, she seemed to be expecting something.

Veronica had been watching her closely in secret. She would never miss any slight change.

It seemed that Crystal wanted Jasper to stay very much.

Jasper hesitated, not sure whether he should accept the offer or not. A pair of soft and thin hands held his arm and shook. "Jasper, stay, please," said Veronica.

Seeing the girl he liked asking him to stay, Jasper was filled with happiness. He reached out and touched her nose gently. "Okay, my princess," he agreed.

Veronica covered her nose with one of her hand and turned around to leave. She seemed to become quite shy. Wearing her high heels, she ran upwards, pulled her room's door open, and got inside quickly.

Anna smiled and shook her head helplessly. "She is being shy."

Jasper echoed while blinking his eyes, "Yes, she becomes shy easily."

Looking at them laughing happily like a real family, Crystal clenched the dirty rag in her hand. The light above cast a shadow downwards. The shadow of her lashes was so long and dark that it was hard to see through her.

There was a smile on her face. It was a weird and cunning smile.

The guest room Anna prepared for Jasper was next to Veronica's room.

After taking a bath, Jasper put on a pajama. He poured himself a glass of milk downstairs and then went upstairs. Stopping in front of Veronica's room, he knocked at the door. "Knock, knock, knock." Three times. A standard for a gentleman. He asked, voice soft, "Veronica, are you still awake?"

No one answered. Jasper stood outside for quite a long time. Then he let out a sigh and turned around, intending to go back to his room. But suddenly, Crystal came out and stopped him.

    "Jasper."

There was shyness in her clear voice. She stared at him with expectant eyes. Jasper stopped and looked at her with his gentle eyes.

    "Crystal, what's the matter?"

    "I…"

She was wearing a white pajama. Silk and thin. It was well-fitted. Her beautiful and young figure could be vaguely recognized. Showering in the dim light, her breasts seemed to be a bit eye-catching.

Jasper took a quick glance at her and soon removed his eyesight. He reached out and stroked Crystal's long black hair. "It's very late now. Go and sleep tight," he said softly as he passed the mile to her.

Crystal reached out and accepted the milk. Suddenly, she rushed into his arms and cried desperately, "Jasper, I've been loving you for a long time."

Secretly, a door which was supposed to be closed tightly, opened and stood ajar.
