Jasper genuflected on the ground, dealing carefully with the wound on Veronica's hand. Complicated emotion surged in her head as she looked at the top of his head.

If she had not lived her past life, there was no way she would know that he was a heartless man. She would still be an innocent girl who knew nothing about the cruel world.

Did a man care the most about his woman's face? Was that the reason why he betrayed her when she lost her pretty face?

Veronica lowered her face so that no one could see through her.

In her past life, she and Jasper went to the amusement for a date today. She still remembered that he knelt on the ground and proposed to her affectionately with a delicate custom-made wedding ring in his hand.

She was so touched at that time. She cried and jumped towards him and nodded with shyness.

Hand in hand, they took a ride on the Ferris wheel and made a faithful vow to each other. Laughter filled them up all the time when they enjoyed every place in the amusement park. However, something unexpected and terrible happened in the haunted house, their last amusement facility.

Veronica stopped recalling when Jasper finished wrapping. She drew back her injured hand and proposed to him, "Let's go to the amusement park today. How do you like it?" She wanted to save that man before it was too late.

Jasper was surprised to hear it. Actually, going to the amusement park was his plan. He then would make the propose there. He had never expected that Veronica would propose to go to the amusement park. He was happy.

Jasper stood up and smiled. "Of course. I've planned to take you there. I'm just surprised to know you want to go there. You see, our minds think alike, don't they?"

Veronica made no response. She merely curled her lips upwards. It was a cold smile.

Not long after she was kicked out of her family in her past life, she couldn't figure out why her lovely parents would kick her out and why they claimed that Jasper's new girlfriend was their daughter. Finally, she gradually understood the reason after she had been struggling at the bottom of society with other poor people. It was all because of money. A simple yet heartbroken reason.

The Sheng family, Xiang family, and Rou family were the richest families in Aron City and they tied first in terms of the wealthy. Each family was trying hard to rank the first among the three. They had been fighting against each other, openly or secretly, for all these years, but none of them made it be the only first.

Her relationship with Jasper was an excellent opportunity to change the situation.

Her parents had been married for several decades. But they didn't give birth to many children. Veronica was the only daughter of the Rou family. As for the Sheng family, though there were many daughters and sons, Jasper was the one the master of the Sheng family loved the most. If they got married, then it meant that the Sheng family and the Rou family would be united by marriage. That way, the Xiang family would be definitely defeated and would never have any chance to rise from the ashes.

The two families would soon become the richest families in Aron City.

Veronica had no idea whether Jasper truly loved her or not.

If everything went smoothly, that would happen naturally. However, here came the accident. Veronica was burnt by the fire in the haunted house. Her legs were broken and ugly wrinkles spread all over her skin. At first, her parents visited all the famous doctors in the city but none of them were able to make her skin as beautiful as before. Gradually, they gave up.

The Sheng family did not want to have such an ugly woman to be their future hostess. But they also were reluctant to let go of the chance to unite with the Rou family. As a result, a fake princess appeared.

Her parents agreed on this ridiculous plan too. They stood in front of the media and made a bitter speech. They told the world that she was actually not their real daughter but the daughter of one of their maid. They claimed that the maid exchanged her child with their real daughter because of greed. They even showed the DNA report which confirmed that she was not their daughter.

That was how Veronica though until the time when the 'real princess' came to her. She was dressed up in beautiful clothes and told Veronica the truth in order to show off. That was the time when hatred completely filled Veronica up.

The 'real princess' in the past life, however, was now wearing the maid's outfit, cleaning the blood stains which Veronica had left on the ground.

She was not very beautiful. But she had very fair skins. It was not a sick color but a healthy one. The fair color of her skin was so shallow that those small blood vessels would be seen. She looked like a white porcelain doll in the shining light. She had a thin figure, and was scrawny because of the malnutrition. Her eyes were big and clear and her lashes were curled upwards. When she blinked her eyes, there seemed to be some light shining in her eyes.

She was the type who would bring out people's desire to protect her.
