"Uh..." Ye Cang let out a big yawn as the morning sunlight seeped through the gaps in the curtains, casting a soft glow on the desk.
Why did I choose an Italian language course without even considering the time?
Rubbing his messy hair that he didn't have time to tidy up, he stared at the electronic watch on the podium. It was 7:50. Originally, he could have slept until noon and then gone to his Literature History class, which started at a peaceful and stable time of 3:00 p.m. But unfortunately, he had selected his Italian language class, after much deliberation, for 8 o'clock in the morning. Not only did he have to wake up early, but he also had to commute to and from school twice. Looking around for a moment, he couldn't believe that there were so many people attending class this early in the morning. Was Italian, known as the "most beautiful language in the world," really this attractive?
Ye Cang pouted disdainfully, as if nothing in this world could compare to the allure of a bed.
"Good morning, classmates," said Ciao.
A low and magnetic male voice came from the doorway, and a brown-haired man strode to the front of the podium. Unlike other teachers, he casually leaned against the edge of the podium, setting aside the few sheets of paper he held in his hand.
"I am your Italian language teacher Paulo," the man raised his eyebrows and looked around the entire classroom. "You can just call me Paul. I apologize for scheduling this class at eight o'clock in the morning. I know you're all tired... I'm tired too. But there's nothing we can do; it's a school rule." He deliberately emphasized the last few words and rolled his eyes openly.
Ye Cang carefully scrutinized the man in front of him, and most of the doubts in his heart disappeared in an instant.
No wonder so many people choose this class, and it seems like there are more girls! It turns out that it's because the teacher giving the lecture is not just handsome!
Paul had a standard foreigner's face, with fine curls in his hair. His skin was a healthy golden color, and his deep, brown eyes matched his hair color, appearing particularly gentle under the sunlight. His high nose bridge was prominent, yet not in an abrupt manner. His thin lips revealed a few snow-white teeth when he smiled. His attire could be described as casual yet neat. The loose-fitting coat and the long scarf hanging on his chest added a touch of London street fashion to his outfit.
"But I don't have much to say about today's class. After all, this is the first lesson. I hope everyone can get to know each other. "Paul rubbed his chin, revealing a hint of sleepiness in his eyes. His fluent Mandarin was quite strange in conjunction with his face. "My assistant will come in a moment, he will take attendance and then in the next class, I will distribute the teaching materials to you."
"Alright, you can go ahead and take care of your own business," Paul said, pulling a chair from behind the lectern and sitting casually by the bed.
8:09 a.m.
So I woke up early in the morning, didn't even have time to wash my face, and the nine-minute class was over? Yecang's face was filled with helpless, slumping on the chair, letting his body slide down.
"Morning."
It was another hoarse baritone.
A sudden commotion startled Ye Cang, causing him to sit up.
A tall figure stood at the classroom entrance, and the girls inside suddenly became restless like ants on a hot pan.
Yo, didn't expect you to actually get up. Paul smirked provocatively as he looked at the figure at the door.
"Mmm..." Paula responded absentmindedly, as the figure walked along the aisle in front of the podium and approached her. Everywhere the figure passed, it drew the attention of onlookers.
Ye Cang widened his eyes, looking at the figure in astonishment. The familiar coarse-knit sweater, the familiar trousers, the familiar silver earring, the familiar tattoo.
Isn't this the girl living next door to my apartment?!
"Hello everyone, I am the teaching assistant for this class. I am a third-year student majoring in Italian in the Department of Languages. My name is Alan, and my Chinese name is Ai Mu." Alan introduced himself with a husky and magnetic voice, while taking out a form from a folder. "Please kindly fill out your contact information and names on this form... Could you please pass it along? Thank you." He politely smiled and handed the form to the girl sitting in the front row.
Ye Cang was still in shock and couldn't recover for a long time. The figure that had made him lose his composure that day turned out to be a boy? And was he his senior?
Although I had thought that the person living in that apartment might be from the same school, I never expected that it would be someone from the same department as me. Ye Cang stared at Ai Mu intently; even though today he had tied his long hair up high behind his head, this outfit and the tattoo on the back of his hand confirmed to Ye Cang that this was the "girl" next door.
Ai Mu seemed to have already grown accustomed to the feeling of being intensely stared at. Covering her mouth, she let out a big yawn, her beautiful face showing signs of fatigue. A sleepless night combined with a few bottles of beer had left her feeling like her head was about to explode.
"Have you all finished writing? Are there still anyone who hasn't received the forms?" Ai Mu raised her voice and scanned everyone in the classroom with her eyes. There was a resounding silence as everyone shook their heads.
"That's settled then. What do you think, Teacher Paul?" Ai Mu lightly lifted the corners of her mouth as she glanced at Paul, who was leaning on the chair, emphasizing the word "teacher" intentionally.
"Alright, let's finish class. Remember to come a little earlier next time to the second floor and pick up the textbooks. It's the classroom where the announcement was made." Paul stood up and placed the chair back behind the podium. He grinned at the students and glanced at Ai Mu. "You've worked hard, classmate Ai Mu."
Ai Mu couldn't help but furrow her brows, asking why I had come when she knew I had been working hard. Now, things have become more complicated. I will have to endure the hardship of getting up early for the entire academic year.
There was a sudden commotion in the classroom, and the girls all rushed to Ai Mu's side before she had a chance to leave the classroom.
"Ai Mu, are you a foreigner?"
"Could Senior Ai Mu please leave a contact method~"
"Ai Mu, senior brother..."
'......'
Ai Mu smiled bitterly in the crowd, answering each person's questions one by one, "I am mixed race... My mother is Italian... You can contact me at xxxxxx@xx.com, that's my email if you have anything to tell me... Hmm, I'm a junior in college... I don't live on campus, so I'm not sure about the specifics... Hmm..."
