"Hello, I'm here to report. May I ask how to get to the Language Department?"

"The Language Department is located to the right after exiting this gate, about 500 meters away," said the girl behind the counter, her glasses perched on her nose, without lifting her head. "The silver building is taller. Enter through the main entrance and go to the second floor to find the administrator of your college... Ah!" She wearily glanced down and saw Ye Cang staring intently at her. Her eyes immediately lit up. "That's right... Go to the second floor and find the administrator of your college! And remember to fill out the course selection form as soon as possible today! Otherwise, you'll be randomly assigned professional courses if you miss the deadline~"

"Okay, thank you, senior sister~" Ye Cang grinned, completely oblivious to the 180-degree change in Glasses Girl's attitude. She was now staring at him with an adoring expression on her face.

I walked out of the consultation room and left a few girls behind the counter snickering.

"Ah! Another handsome guy has joined the Linguistics Department..."

    "Not that way!"

    '......'

Just coming out of the dreary memories of high school, I suddenly stepped into the university and couldn't help but immerse myself in the scenery before my eyes.

Without uniformity of school uniforms, without an empty playground, without the pale teaching building that had been scrubbed clean. Coming out of the consultation room was a long road that stretched beyond sight, with thick green bushes on either side. On the left was a wide lawn with several art sculptures embellishing it. People gathered in groups on the lawn, some chatting, some reading books. Occasionally, bursts of laughter from excited girls could be heard, and in the gaps, the current popular music could be heard, creating a lively atmosphere. On the right was a vast sports field, with basketball courts, tennis courts, and volleyball courts. At a glance, there were hardly any empty spaces left. Ye Cang couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth, as his whole hand felt a hundred times more sensitive when he saw the basketball. He couldn't wait to rush in and break a sweat immediately.

There weren't many people walking on the road. Ye Cang gradually quickened his pace, hoping to make it back in time to play a couple of games before the end of the lunch break!

The Language Department's teaching building stands out conspicuously in a school with such a garden-like atmosphere. The entire exterior of the teaching building is covered with a layer of dark blue glass, giving Ye Cang an instant feeling of being back in the downtown area. Upon entering through the main entrance, there is a large world map on the left, with many small pins inserting numbered paper scraps at different locations on the map. The lobby is spacious, and walking through it leads to six circular elevators. Compared to the School of Economics they just passed, this place appears particularly desolate.

It's no wonder, they say that it's really difficult to get into the language department of this school. But this wasn't Yecang's first choice either, perhaps being assigned here was destiny.

Following a group of people, they took the elevator up to the second floor. Indeed, there weren't many people on the second floor either. A sign divided the people into two routes, leading to two classrooms facing each other. One route was designated for foreign students, while the other was for local students. Standing at the end of the queue, Ye Cang double-checked the information one last time, then started discreetly observing the other queue out of the corner of his eye. Although not all of them had blonde hair and blue eyes, it was obvious from their facial features that they were not locals. Their deep eye sockets, fair skin, and tall stature, even among the girls, were not surprising. Most of them were dressed in fitted clothes, and their curvaceous figures could be seen from their silhouettes. In the unanimously quiet atmosphere, the sound of high heels rubbing against the ground was particularly noticeable.

The team slowly advanced, and after about five minutes, it was Ye Cang's turn.

I pushed open the door and stepped into the classroom, where the bright sunlight poured in.

"Hello new classmate, please bring the paperwork over."

Ye Cang politely smiled at the senior students and handed them his own portfolio.

"You're called Ye Cang, right? Take the course schedule and see if you still need to choose any elective courses. Our department requires a certain number of credits in minor languages to graduate. Choose them based on your own schedule."

Browsing through the courses quickly, Yè Cāng realized that he wasn't very busy. He glanced to the side and looked at the elective courses, all of which gave off a strong impression of tedious and lengthy classroom atmosphere just by their names. Sighing, he decided to randomly pick a few. Yè Cāng chose a couple of history courses on a whim and handed the form back to the teacher who had helped him with course selection.

"That classmate? Are you not choosing any foreign language courses this year?"

"Ah? Sorry, I forgot... Let me take another look," Ye Cang blushed slightly as he hurriedly took back his class schedule.

German? Not really interested. Spanish? It seems quite difficult. Japanese? This one is good! Ye Cang busily checked his class schedule, damn it... it clashes with the English class. Korean? He couldn't help but break into a cold sweat, remembering how his girlfriend would go on and on about Korean dramas. Italian? This one doesn't feel particularly dislikeable, but also doesn't have any particular preference.

Ye Cang hesitated and looked up at the teacher. "Teacher, I... don't have much foundation..."

Rest assured, rest assured, these courses are all taught from scratch. The final exams won't be too difficult!" The teacher chuckled at the troubled Ye Cang and said, "After all, no one entered by taking language exams, right?"

Ye Cang took a deep breath, this was it!

    "Teacher, I choose Italian."
