Two days later vic was in her room wondering if she should join the dancing competition she hasn't been her self since suzy told her about the competition.after much pondering she decided to sign up for the competition, suzy and lily were very happy that she was participating.

Suzy sent her some videos of her new dancing steps, Vic promised to send her some of hers too, Vic helped her to mom to prepare lunch after lunch she went to her room , Vic decided to create some new dancing steps , she was dancing when john came in.

John: Vic I heard the sound of music in your room, so I came to find out if you have started dancing again.

Vic: John I will appreciate if you just let me be.

John: really? I want to but I don't want you to bring more shame to our family,last time you were caught cheating in the exam I knew how I avoided my classmates mocking. ( Vic was silent she couldn't control the tears that was rolling down her cheeks)

Vic: I know that I was very incompetent but must you all remember me of my crime.

John: yeah cos you have refused to study hard which will lead to another exam malpractice.

Vic: I know you are better of me in studies but must you boost.

John: Am not boosting am just looking after my kid sis.(Vic nodded).

Vic: kid sis indeed you never treated me as one instead you compare yourself with me.

John: I see, you have refused to take corrections well I don't blame you because I know that those block head friends of yours won't advise you.(Vic was enraged)

Vic: I won't take those from you, don't you ever insult my friends.(their parents rushed in)

dad and mom: what's the problem? (Vic told them what happened but they blamed her instead.

mom and dad : John be is right you should study hard, we have warned you about dancing.(Vic nodded and they left with John , she sat on her bed dejected, what have she done wrong mum and dad always took side with John she became Lost in her thoughts when the beeping that comes from her phone.

Vic: hello Suzy how have you been?

Suzy: am good and you?,am so excited that you decided to sign up for the competition.

vic: suzy I just didn't know how I can participate without dad and mom knowing I had a fight with John today,he was scolding me about dancing.

Suzy: Am very sorry about that, I really wish you would participate, the price for first person is scholarship to the best school of the person choice and there is also some money for the person about five hundred thousand dollars.(Vic gasped at the mention of such huge amount of money it would change her family's life and as for the scholarship she would have an opportunity to attend her dream dancing school) Vic: really! I must participate even if everyone here is against my decision I will try my best.

Suzy: remember you still have myself and lily.(A smile curved at the end of Vic's mouth)

vic: thanks Suzy you guys are they best thing that ever happened to me.

Vic decided to use her head phone for practice, she prayed to God everyday asking him for success she wanted to be the first , whenever she sees her parents she pretended to be reading, she also n

made sure that John didn't caught her.

it's morning Vic woke up said her prayers and went to greet her parents who were already awake, she went back to her room to brush her teeth and take her bath before breakfast was ready on getting to her room she saw John bent over her laptop looking at something she walked to him.

Vic: good morning John what are you doing in my room.

John: i came to borrow your laptop mine ran out of battery.

Vic: yeah I see but why were you scrolling it before I give it to you.

John: you are hidding something there are you?

vic: Am not.

John : really! but I saw some videos.

Vic: I watch educative videos with my laptop.

John: they are educative indeed,mom and dad said you should quit dancing but here you are recording your dancing,are you trying to participate in the lock down dancing competition I saw online.

Vic: look John is not what you think.

John: I will tell mom and dad right away.

Vic : pls don't, I will delete the videos and I won't participate.

(John nodded and left,Vic deleted the videos as promised took her bath and went downstairs for breakfast, she ate very little. that day Vic wasn't her self she became very moody her mom and dad didn't notice because they don't know how she feels they hardly stays at home to know that. when lily and suzy called they were sad to hear the news that she won't participate anymore. John came later to take her laptop he smiled when he didn't see the videos again he also urged her to read her books unknown to him Vic has tried reading but to no avail, dancing was her life she couldn't imagine doing anything apart from becoming a dancer.

few days after the discussion with John they were at the dinner table when John spilled the beans, because Vic asked their parents if she could do another thing apart from the business management she was studying.

mom: you can if it's a good career for a female.(Vic nodded she was about to say something but John interrupted) John: mom Vic is talking about dancing she wants to be a dancer (vic choked on her food, her parents angry gaze turned to her, she tried to explain but John was at it again he told them how she wanted to participate in the dancing competition, Vic's palm began to sweat, her dad ordered her to bring her phone, head and other forms of communications.
