[The Present]

Since Cole Wu and Chaz Wu had a quarrel, Chaz Wu suddenly disappeared. He is now nowhere to be found.

Because of Chaz Wu, their parents have been at loggerheads with Cole Wu as well.

They said that Chaz Wu was his biological younger brother after all, so he couldn't just leave him to sink!

It has been two years and Seth Wu is five years old now, but Cole Wu and his father are still having a cold war because of Chaz Wu!

Actually, Cole Wu knows that Chaz Wu must have told their parents about who gave birth to little Seth and who his biological father was!

Otherwise, they won't be so cold and cruel to Cole Wu, and they won't be so indifferent to Seth either.

They must think that Cole Wu and Seth Wu have brought shame on the Wu's and that they are the reason why the Wu's can never be proud and confident in front of the Zhang's!

Today is Seth Wu's five-year-old birthday. Cole Wu closes the bookstore in advance. He is gonna take Seth to a cake shop to buy two birthday cakes, one for Seth, the other for his dead younger brother.

"Dad, will my younger brother like fruit cakes just as I do?" Seth Wu has grown taller. He is now almost as tall as Cole Wu's lower body. The baby fat on his face has gone and his hair has grown longer. He looks clean and neat in long hairs because his forehead and ears are not covered by hairs.

"Of course, you are twin brothers. If you like fruit cake, your younger brother will definitely like it too." Cole Wu smiles. He takes Seth Wu's little hands and walks into a cake shop that is near their home.

He just picked Seth up from school and they don't have time to put his schoolbag at home. So Cole Wu carries the schoolbag for him. On the schoolbag, there is Seth Wu's favorite little spider.

Seth Wu likes little spiders best. So, when the film Avengers: Infinity War was released in cinemas, he didn't take Seth to watch it...He is afraid that Seth may get terrified.

"Pick one yourself. Remember, pick one for your brother as well!"

"Okay, Dad!"

Seth Wu lies on his stomach against the showcase and starts to choose the cake row by row.

Cole Wu smiles. He is very contented to see that his child has grown up to who he is now safe and sound.

That's good enough...Life is short. He, as Seth's father, will be contented if he can see his son grow up, marry to someone he loves and live happily.

Anyways, safety and health are the best things.

Happiness is only possible when you are alive.

"Are you buying or not...You've been choosing for such a long time. Come on..."

"Tell me about it. The glass has become so dirty after being touched by him and I have to wipe it clean later...I hate those damn naughty kids. They are just so annoying..."

Cole Wu is sharp-eared. He has clearly heard what the two female shop assistants said. His look suddenly changes!

The two female shop assistants seem to have spoken with their mouths covered with hands, but actually they were speaking loudly. Seth Wu also heard it.

He steps back and stands far away from the showcase immediately. His little hands nervously grab his T-shirt and he is weeping with grievances.

"...Dad..."

Cole Wu's heart aches!

He grabs his son and touches his face gently. He says, "You made the showcase dirty. It's your fault. Go apologize to those sisters."

"...Ok." Although Seth Wu is reluctant to apologize, after hearing what Cole Wu said, he thinks that he did something wrong as well. He nods his head and walks over to the two female shop assistants. He says in a low voice, "Sister, I'm sorry that I made the showcase dirty. I'm sorry."

"...Er. Ne...Never mind. That is supposed to be my job." One of the shop assistants blushes immediately. She feels embarrassed.

The other shop assistant forces a smile. Then she crouches and asks, "Hey, kiddo. You've been choosing for a long time. Have you decided which cake you are gonna buy?"

"...Not yet." Seth Wu bites his lips and steps back. Then he runs over to Cole Wu and holds his leg, looking terrified.

The smile of that shop assistant is terrifying. He doesn't like it.

"Dad, let's go home. I don't want to eat cake now..." He holds Cole Wu's leg with grievances. He is about to burst into tears.

"Ok. Just a minute. We'll go home soon." Cole Wu pinches his son's face and smiles gently.

"Is your boss here?" Cole Wu's attitude suddenly becomes cold.

The shop assistant, who looks weak, immediately gets terrified by Cole Wu's toughness. She asks with smiles, "What's the matter? If it's nothing serious, we can help you fix it."

"It's actually serious. My son has made a mistake. He made the showcase dirty while picking the cake. I, as his father, didn't teach him well. So of course, I should apologize to your boss face to face!" says Cole Wu slowly. He looks serious.

"Well...It's fine! There's no need for this! It's not your son's fault anyway. You don't have to apologize to our boss!"

"I have to! You said that my son made a mistake, so he is supposed to apologize for his mistake! Otherwise I would be spoiling him and letting him be a damn naughty kid! My son can't be called like that!" Since Cole Wu moved out with Seth Wu, he has become tougher and tougher. Especially, when it comes to his son, he won't make any compromise!

He just can't stand it that his son gets wronged for no reason.

You just can't tolerant some people.

All lay load on the willing horse!

"Hey, you are making trouble out of nothing! Go away. Don't bother our business!" The other shop assistant, who is more domineering, immediately senses that Cole Wu wants to make a complaint against them in front of their boss. So she decides to be tough and even starts to shove them.

"Don't touch my son!" Cole Wu takes Seth Wu to stand behind him and tries to protect him.

Suddenly, the door of the cake shop is pushed open. A woman, who is wearing delicate makeups, shouts, "What are you doing! Jessie, this is how you treat our customers while I'm away?!"

"No, Ms. Qin...I...This gentleman is making trouble out of nothing. His son was being naughty, which affected our business. So I drive them out..." The shop assistant softens her attitude immediately. Although she didn't forget to make up reasons to pass the buck.

Ms. Qin smiles coldly and says, "Jessie...We have CCTV in the shop. Are you taking me as a fool? I know very well what you are like in ordinary times. If I were not your sister's classmate, I would have sacked you already! Now...Apologize to our customer!"

Jessie Su's face immediately goes pale. She lowers her head and says reluctantly, "Sorry."

Cole Wu says, "You hurt a kid, so you need to apologize to my son, not me."

"...Sorry, kid."

"It's ok, sister. Sister, can you not be so cruel in the future? You were more terrifying than our headmaster just now..." says Seth Wu.

Jessie Su is holding back her anger, but she doesn't say anything.

Ms. Qin smiles apologetically. She takes out a VIP card and gives it to Cole Wu. She says, "I'm sorry. This is our shop assistants' fault. They made this little kid unhappy. He and Seth pick two fruit cakes with letters written by cream on them. After the shop assistant wraps them up, Cole Wu pays the money and takes them away.

After the door of the shop is opened, a tall and strong man comes in. He looks handsome and charming. He is suit-and-tie and his hairstyle is slicked-back.

Elizabeth Qin nods her head. She immediately takes her handbag and walks out.

"Coming! You haven't changed at all. You just can't stand waiting for women!"

Cole Wu's feet seem to have been nailed to the ground!

His eyes are wide open. He foolishly stares at the man in front of him. The man glances at him coldly. Then he ignores him and lets Ms. Qin hold his arm. Then they leave together.

"Dad, Dad..." Seth Wu is pulling Cole Wu's hand. He feels a little uneasy.

Cole Wu wipes away his tears. Although his heart hurts, he holds Seth's hand and walks out of the shop. He watches Tye Zhang drive away with that woman. After quite a while, he forces a smile and says,

"Seth, let's go home. We're gonna celebrate you and your brother's birthday."
