Edward’s eyes were cold like always. He lowered his head and found it was Hailey. That was the time he began to look at her with relatively gentle eyes.

His face remained poker-faced. “Why are you here? What are you doing here?” he asked with a surprised look.

Hailey’s eyes lit up at once as if she saw a savior. She excitedly stretched out her hand and grasped Edward’s arm. “Edward! You just arrived in the nick of the time! Come with me! You must save Aunt Lucy!”

“What’s wrong?” Edward asked, his voice remained cold as if the name Hailey just mentioned made him very annoyed.

“Just follow me and walk quickly! Aunt Lucy is in danger now! We have to save her.” Hailey dragged him and led him to the box. She became a dutiful, innocent, and zealous niece at that time.

Some stakeholders of Edward’s entertainment company were following Edward. They came here today to talk about business. They also followed and went to the box with Hailey and Edward.

“Bang!”

The door was kicked open. Everyone was dumbfounded the moment they saw the picture inside the room. All of them hummed in an abhorrent tone.

Edward, on the other hand, did not show any of his emotions. His face remained cool like always. When he recognized what was happening there, he wrinkled his eyebrow deeply. Obviously, that was disgusting.

“Terry! Don’t you do that to Aunt Lucy! Stop it!” Hailey suppressed her urge to vomit and roared at Terry.

Damn it. This is just too disgusting to see all of this! she wondered at the same time.

Hailey tried hard to stop herself from vomiting out of disgust, trying to walk forward to drag Terry away from Lucy.

However, before she could approach them, a shadow flashed, appeared in front of her, and embraced her in his arms. She was stopped from walking ahead.

Her head buried in Edward’s arms, she could hear nothing else except for his heartbeat. The rest of the whole seemed to be faded and there was only Edward left beside her. The stir among the crowd continued. However, that was not her business.

She was embraced by s strong man. She could sniff the sexy smell released by this charming man. Gradually, she could not think anymore. She felt as if she was drowned by a vast sea consisting of tenderness.

Hailey did not struggle to pull herself away from Edward until she felt it difficult to breathe.

“Stay here. Don’t look at such a dirty scene.” Hailey heard Edward’s cool voice from above her head.

She stopped struggling at once.

“No! My God! How am I supposed to live in the world?” Lucy cried heartbrokenly as she tried hard to cover her body with those broken clothes.

Hailey’s heart skipped a beat when she heard that. Did Terry make it? she wondered.

She turned her head with difficulty and took a glance at Lucy from the corner of her eye. Lucy was sitting on the ground and howling like crazy. Her hair was a mess and she was almost naked.

When she was about to take a look at Terry, Edward pressed her head against his body again, preventing her from seeing more.

Hailey was speechless.

“No one is allowed to spread what happened here today,” he ordered in a cold tone.

“Yes.”

“Yes.”

The rest of the crowd promised at once as they nodded their heads.

This was a scandal of the Zhang Family. Anyone who dared to spread the news would be considered as an enemy of the Zhang Family. All those stakeholders were gaining benefits through Edward’s company. They were smart enough to keep their mouth zipped.

Everyone, however, was extremely confused about why Lucy and Terry were together here.

That was really a shame!

Terry scrambled towards Edward in a hurry and cried, “No, no, no! Mr. Zhang. You must be mistaken! Let me explain!”

However, Edward just kicked him away forcefully.

Despite the great pain, Terry still tried hard and explained, “Probably I was drugged by someone. That’s the reason why I did this to her! I didn’t do it! I swear! I just tore her clothes! I didn’t actually make it. Trust me, please. Ask her and you will know I did not make it!”

Lucy’s body trembled with fear. She turned around and grasped the broken clothes from the ground and covered her body. “Edward, he is telling the truth. If it were not for you being here timely, probably I would have been…”

Hailey managed it and got out of Edward’s arms and exclaimed out with a surprised face, “What? Mr. Wang, you said you were drugged?”

Almost at the same time, Edward picked up a coat from the ground and threw it forcefully to Terry. The coat just landed perfectly and covered his ugly fat body.

All Hailey was thinking about at that point in time was the drug.

About ten minutes before, she was in the restroom and heard a waitress speak on the phone. That was the time when Hailey learned that a waitress was bribed to drug someone in the box.

According to the waitress, Lucy intended to drug her and Terry by having the waitress mix the drug in their drinks. Lucy paid twenty thousand in order to ask the waitress to mix more drugs in their drinks.

The waitress did as she was told. But still, she felt very guilty. So she ran into the restroom and called her friend to talk about it.

As expected, Terry totally lost his control after a few sips of red wine.

If Hailey had not heard it in the restroom, she would be now sitting on the ground, crying and accusing Terry. She would be one who was humiliated so horribly.

That was just too much to even think of it for Hailey.

Hailey never hurt anyone else. But for those who tried to hurt her, she would show no mercy.

Lucy and Sully had tried so many times to kill her. Hailey was well aware of that. This time, she would never be so soft-hearted to forgive them no matter how miserable they would end up.

“What? Mr. Wang was drugged? But how could this be even possible? Who would do that?” Hailey seemed to be frightened very much. She walked back to Edward and stood beside him. She looked so poor and scared, making people want to protect her.

Edward took a look at the girl next to him and asked, “Why are you here?” His voice was still cold and calm.

“Aunt Lucy has been always caring about my future husband. So I’m here for a date she has arranged for me.”

The moment Hailey finished her words, Edward’s face grew darker. The atmosphere in the room became extremely chilling.

“Mr. Zhang, why don’t you deal with your family affair first? We can talk about the business later. I think we should leave the time being,” one of the stakeholders suggested. The rest of them nodded in agreement. All of them had already realized that this was not the good time to have a meeting with Edward when he had something urgent to deal with.

The door banged and closed again. Lucy and Terry could not help trembling when they heard the bang.

Edward lit a cigarette and inhaled deeply before he breathed out. “Hailey, you are still a high school girl. Are you desperate to get married at such an early age?” he asked.

“Aunt Lucy has been always choosing candidates for me. I can’t just turn her down,” the girl replied as she blinked her innocent eyes.

Edward studied Hailey’s face carefully. Sudden, he squinted his eyes as if he had already seen through everyone.

“Go and wash away all those make-ups on your face,” he demanded.

“Oh, all right. I’m going now.”

When Hailey walked outside, she took a glance at his white shirt.

He had been embracing her all the time just now. Those cheap make-ups stained his clean and white shirt.

Edward was a neat freak. Would he become angry with her because of that? Would he punish her?

Hailey was not sure.

“Go and clean your face now!” Edward repeated again in an annoyed tone.

Hailey pressed her lips before she hurriedly ran to the restroom and removed her make-up.

Edward crushed out his cigarette and said calmly, “Aunt Lucy, it seems that Terry was right. He was drugged. Someone did a terrible thing. How do you think?”

“Edward! This is the Emperor Hotel! It’s the property of the Zhang Family. Who would dare to drug the guest here? That’s impossible! Terry was talking nonsense! You can’t be fooled by him!” Lucy replied at once. She was very nervous and afraid that her trick would be discovered by Edward. Her body shivered uncontrollably.

What had happened today was totally out of her expectation. Her purpose was to have Terry sleep with Hailey, whether they liked it or not. That way, Hailey would disappear from the Zhang Family and she would not stay with Edward all the time. But why did all of this end up with her being insulted and almost raped by Terry?

This was doomed to be her shame in her life.

“It seems that I have to talk the Uncle Alex and ask him to investigate this. I’m sure he will find out the truth,” Edward said with an expressionless face.

Lucy’s face paled dreadfully in an instant. She responded in an anxious tone, “No, Edward! Please don’t get him involved. He must not know this! He will not let me go if he knows I was close to being raped.”

“Then I have to investigate and find out the suspect who plotted all of this!” Edward said. Apparently, he was extremely angry about what happened here.

Hailey was now eavesdropping outside the door. She could not help covering her mouth and laughing. Good job! Aunt Lucy, you are shooting yourself in the foot, she said inwardly.

Edward was indeed a smart man! He would not come to a conclusion until he found out the truth.

As expected, a minute later, Lucy howled like crazy, “No, Edward! I will tell you everything! But you can’t inform your uncle about this, can you?” She knew she was unable to keep her secret anymore.

She then confessed everything she had done. She had bribed a waitress to mix drugs on the drinks brought to Terry and Hailey. She covered her face with her hands, wailing and whining. Her decency was gone completely.

“How could you do this to Hailey, Aunt Lucy? She is just a young girl!” Edward stood up immediately with rage. The anger emitting from him was so terrible that no one would dare to breathe. “I have my plan to deal with this. But from this day, you are forbidden to step into the territory of my house. Do you hear me?”

Lucy opened her eyes wide in surprise. She was unable to believe what she just heard from Edward.
