It seemed that York Gu had decided that he would not look away without receiving Nell’s answer. So, he did not move his car in front of the green light.
Nell saw that the cars behind pressed the horn crazily. She was also anxious and embarrassed, “Just get away from here. Let us talk in somewhere else.”
“I don’t want to.”
Exceeding Nell’s expectations, the calm and reasonable York had gone. He was rather childish at this moment.
“I have said it. If you don’t give me a clear answer, I won’t step forward.”
Seeing the provocative York, Nell couldn’t help laughing, “God, do you think that you are still a child? How can you be unreasonable in the middle of a street?”
Though Nell said like this, she was still worried to look around.
Stopping a car in the middle of the road, it was dangerous to them and other drivers. Also, it would cause a congestion.
So seeing the annoying cars outside, Nell puckered the mouth, “I have said it. You pass this traffic light first. We stopped there to discuss about it. It is not good for both of us if you keep like this.”
“I don’t care.”
York made up his mind to solve the problem here.
“I…”
Nell now didn’t know whether to cry or to laugh.
She didn’t expect that York would act childishly in the middle of the street. It felt like that a young boy who wanted to asked for candies from his mother but didn’t succeed.
What made Nell wanted to laugh was that York had never done such thing before. He wouldn’t even carry a single personal affection. Now it felt like that he had shown all of it.
At this time Nell didn’t know what she should do. Suddenly she saw two drivers come out from their cars behind and walked towards them from the rearview mirror to ask them to move. She was panic.
Obviously, they were angry as they were forced to stay there for a long time.
Seeing two strong men walking towards them, Nell started to worry whether they were ill-tempered to do something bad.
“Alright. I promise you.”
Nell quickly said yes.
She could not endanger their lives here. She dared not to take York into trouble.
He just got back to the company. The company needed him. If anything happened to him again. Nell needed to take all the responsibilities.
“What do you promise?”
York still wanted a certain answer. He kept asking, “Tell me who you are. Where are we now, what time is it, whom do you promise. Say all in one complete sentence.
While saying this, he took out the phone from the pocket and started to record.
Seeing this, Nell rolled her eyeballs while he looked away. She thought that what York did was rather childish. But she could only say yes. “I, Nell Su, promise York that no matter what happens, I will stand by his side to face the difficulties with him in the future on 23:17 June 28th 2017, at the crossroad of Red Mountain Road and Eastern Wind Road.”
York didn’t except that Nell would say it more concrete. In his heart, he was indeed touched by what she said.
For a very long time, York hadn’t cared so much about a person. So naturally nobody had cared about him either, including his family.
But this time Nell had said that no matter what difficulties, she would face them with York. Such important promises had touched him deeply.
Out of a sudden, York didn’t know what he should say. He took back the phone and saved the record. Then, finally drove down the road.
“Remember what you have said. I will keep it in mind.”
This was the last word York said to Nell.
On the way to Nell’s home, York didn’t say another word. Nell couldn’t figure out what York was thinking now.
She wondered whether he was happy or concerned or something else after hearing her promise. Nell didn’t know it.
Anyway, Nell did what York asked her to do. So, he didn’t have the reason to be angry at her or what.
Thinking of this, Nell felt better.
Soon, York’s car arrived at the dormitory where Nell lived now.
“Here we are. Thanks for the ride.”
Looking at the familiar scene, Nell wanted to open the door and go out.
When she tried to open the door, it was still locked. She looked back at York with a questioning eyes, “Have you forgotten something?”
Nell didn’t say that clear. She knew that York wouldn’t forget such tiny thing. It would be awkward for both of them if she said it out.
While York just tilted his head and laughed, “What do you say? I don’t understand it.”
“I mean… You forget to unlock the door. How can I get out?
Nell slightly bit her lip. She knew that York understood what she said. He just wanted to flirt with her. So she said it clear.
“Alright.”
York laughed. He unlocked the door. Then he dragged Nell to his side and held her in arms.
