Sean didn't sleep well, and he woke up at an early time. He felt weak all over, stumbling to take a shower and putting on the pajamas before lying back. His body was a little cold, while it was quite warm under the bedclothes. The man next to him was hot like a warm stove.
It dawned very late during the northern winter. William seemed to be exhausted these days, still in deep sleep. Sean bit his lip, leaning over carefully to hold William's waist in his arms. He loved William so much, in-depth bone marrow. It was an instinct to love him, through fair and foul.
So there would not be another person to accompany William for seven years of bitter days, endure his three years of cheating, but still love him so much in the rest of his life. So tender and gentle, so resolute and brave. Only Sean He could love him this way.
William woke up, feeling someone in his arms. He held the person tightly half-awake subconsciously------ No one could stay on his bed for a whole night except Sean.
In fact, Sean's figure had not changed too much, and it was almost the same with the docile Sean in high school when he nestled against William’s chest like a kitten. William was not quite clear that when Sean was no longer clingy to him, when he did not care about his staying out late anymore, and when he did not care about his intimate friends anymore. Sean just stayed alone, and then became more and more silent, more and more gaunt. There was even a period of time when William felt that he was tired of Sean and was unwilling to meet him again, but this day he seemed to feel that he was not unwilling to see him, but did not dare to. He was afraid to see his numb meekness, his dim and dodgy eyes, and his unconscious rejection in bed.
William stretched out his palm to stroke Sean's messy hair on the face and put it beside his ear. He looked at Sean deeply and gently, whose smooth and light breaths fell on his chest like small claws scratched on his heart, making him itchy. He could not help touching Sean's ruddy cheek. But he paused when touching it ------ Sean had a fever.
"Sean, good boy, get up." William frowned and gently pinched the tip of his nose.
Sean was used to low fever, not feeling too afflictive. He only felt faint and uncomfortable after he was awakened by William. He shook his head gently, expressing his refusal with some soft snorts.
His rarely acting like a spoiled child worked for William most, and the latter could only tuck him in tightly and go to find medicine.
Accidently, the bookcase in the small study was half empty and various vitreous jars of different size had filled the bookrack. It seemed to be medicine inside it, but not quite like it either. After all, it would be too weird if inside it was really medicine. William did not think much, rummaged through the medical case and poured out some medicine to treat his fever.
"Take the medicine before sleeping." William put the water cup beside Sean's lips: "I'll make some rice porridge for you later."
Sean was somewhat sober, taking the medicine feebly.
William patted the hair top of Sean: "Was I too violent last night?"
Sean tucked himself in the quilt and turned around, ignoring him.
"I have nothing to do today. Later I'll take you to the hospital to have a check. You must treat yourself so badly. You are so thin."
Sean's back turned stiff then, saying in a muffled voice: "I won't go." And then said: "Help me feed my cats."
"Don't be wayward. Listen to me." William would never chang his decision. Maybe feeling his tone was too rigid, he added: "I'll help you feed the cats, good boy."
Sean saw him out. He did not want to go to the hospital as it had been a foregone conclusion. Things that you once missed would be missed for ever, and the late compensation would never help. Sean didn’t need the regret or guilty based on sympathy at all.
Why your concern came too late, William? Sadness showed in Sean's eyes. If two months ago at the snowy day, William had come back to accompany him to eat dumplings and asked him why he looked so gaunt, he would not endure everything alone until this time. He could not endure all the disregard and beating even if he loved him. Life was decreed by fate, so this time, he would give him both his love and life.
Sean blanched bit by bit. He could pretend to be strong, and could also show his weakness to resist what he did not want to do.
When William went back to the bedroom to call him to have breakfast, Sean had curled up out of indisposition whose pale face was covered by cold sweat. Seeing William, he raised his face with moist eyes, opened his mouth and called: "William......"
"My body hurts......"
"Where? Tell me, where hurts? Sean, don't scare me......"
"I'm weak all over and my waist is sore."
William held him to his arms, deeming that it might be his violence in bed last night and the fever that made him so uncomfortable, so he coaxed him then in a soft tone: "Eat some porridge later and have a good rest then. We'll have the physical examination next time. "
Sean grunted assent. Another close shave.
