That young man was the doctor Edward had asked Jack to call. His name was Nate Lin, a talented doctor.

Nate Lin pushed his glasses up and smiled. “That is a possibility. But personally, I prefer to believe that she was stimulated mentally. But don’t worry. That may be a good thing. And that’s why she starts to behave nice. Actually, she refused to accept the fact that her father already died in the past. That’s why she behaved so impulsively and irritably. She blamed you for her father’s death, am I right? When things continued that way, she suffered from social anxiety disorder and depression, and must have behaved aggressively.”

Edward listened carefully as he tapped his fingers on the table. “That may be a good thing, or may be a bad thing. Right?” he asked.

Nate Lin nodded his head in response. “Yes. But from what you said, it seems that she is no more suffering from depression and she even has already accepted the fact that her father already died. Something just simulated her and wake her up! Isn’t it fantastic? I would say that ‘something’ must be terrible!”

On the second floor, Hailey had no idea at all that she was considered to be a schizophrene by Edward. She was still concentrating on her writing as hard as she could.

All of a sudden, someone knocked at the door. “Miss Hailey, the dinner is ready. Please come and enjoy,” a maid said politely.

It was not until this time did Hailey realize that it was already that late. She had spent several hours on her work!

She stretched her arms, stood up from the chair, and went to the restroom to clean herself, ready to go downstairs to have the dinner.

After she was done cleaning her face, another voice said outside as she knocked at the door again, “Miss Hailey, the dinner is ready.”

Hailey pulled her door open and said, “Okay, I’m…”

Before she could finish her words, she was shocked by the maids and servants who were standing by the door orderly. “Louis, why are all of you standing here?”

The moment she finished her question, Hailey slapped her in her head. How could she forget that it was all because of her?

Taking a deep breath, Hailey forced out gently smile and said, “Louis, I will go downstair to have meals by myself. You don’t need to do this anymore. I mean, all of you, don’t.”

Yet, she was the cause. Ever since she began to live here, she required everyone to call her to have meals in order to make Edward angry. She had even claimed that she would never have meals unless everyone was present. Sometimes, she even would not leave her room unless Edward came.

Louis, the steward, took a quick look at her in surprise. He did not feel suspicious, though. “Yes, I got it,” he said as he nodded his head.

Hailey went downstairs as she covered part of her face to conceal the embarrassment on her face. As expected, she did not see Edward in the dining room. Usually, she would refuse to eat and would Flip the table and smash the bowl as long as Edward was present. So, in order to avoid such chaos, they had different dining times.

Thinking of that, Hailey felt nothing but awkward. She felt her face burning with fire. “Louis, could you please arrange my dinner with Edward? I want to have dinner with him,” she asked in embarrassment.

There was surprise on Louis’s face. He paused for a second and said hesitantly, “Mr. Zhang doesn’t like it when there is someone else during his dinner. And he has stomach trouble. The doctor said he must have meals on time, so…”

What Louis meant was that what if Hailey went crazy and destroyed Edward’s dinner? It would not only make Edward become angry, but also delay his dinner time…

Hailey, of course, understood what Lous said. She felt her face burning more. She remembered that before she moved to the dormitory, she had destroyed Edward’s dinner for several times. No wonder Louis refused her.

She also knew that even if she promised that she would not do anything terribly, Louis would not believe her words that easily. So she decided not to force him. Secretly, she was determined to change their attitudes towards him by showing them that she was not the former Hailey anymore.

In the Ho Residence.

In the study, Jerry looked at his father, Lambert Cheng, who was walking to and fro with his eyebrows furrowed. “Father, Mr. Zhang let us leave and did not find fault with us. Probably he will not come after us anymore…” Jerry said to his father.

Lambert Cheng, on the other hand, cast him a complicated look. “Jerry, you don’t know what kind of person Edward is. I’ve already sent someone for the investigation. You know what? That girl named Hailey is his driver’s daughter. His driver had been working for him for about twenty years. And rumor has it that he died not long ago in order to save Edward. So he values this girl very much.”

Jerry was not able to stay calm anymore. Everyone knew that Edward was a cruel man and he was also the kind who valued family and friends very much. Hailey’s father died in order to save him. In that case, Edward must care about her very much.

“What should we do next?” Jerry asked in desperation.

Lambert Cheng stopped his steps and let out a sigh. “Take your sister to their place and make her apologize to that girl! Even if it means that she will have to kneel to her, she must seek forgiveness from that girl!”

In Maggie Ho’s room, Jerry told her what their father said.
Pat!!!

“What? Are you serious? It is all her fault! That bitch! Why should I apologize to her? She beat me!” Maggie screamed like crazy as she threw whatever at hand. “She is really bitchy! Why should I kneel to her?”

Jerry looked coldly at her, watching her act crazily. Finally, he said, “Because she has Edward at her back.”

“She is nobody but merely a plaything of Edward! When he gets bored with her, he will kick her out of his house! I’m pretty about that! She is NOBODY!” Maggie cried out loud.

Jerry did not try to convince her anymore. He simply sneered and did not bother himself explaining the relationship between Hailey and Edward. “Father will take you to the Zhang Resident tomorrow. I suggest you do whatever Father says and don’t piss Edward off. Otherwise, none of us can be powerful enough to save you,” he said coldly.

Then, he kicked the glass fragments out of his way with a disgusted facial expression before he stepped out of the room. Before he left, he turned around to look at Maggie who was wearing a resentful expression and said, “You’d better remember what I said today. Don’t you ever piss Edward off! Otherwise, there will be consequences.”

At night, in the Zhang Residence.

“No… No, no, no. Don’t drink it! Edward! Stop it! It’s toxic! Don’t drink it…. Ahhhh!”

In the bedroom on the second floor, a scream sounded all of a sudden. Hailey sat up immediately. Her body shivered uncontrollably. There were desperation and fear written all over her pale face.

Suddenly, she jumped off the bed and pulled the door open and rushed out with bare feet. She quickly went upstairs and stopped outside Edward’s room.

She wanted to see him! She wanted to make sure he was still alive!

However, she stood still there for quite a long time. She found it hard to knock at the door because of fear.

What if there was nobody inside the room? What if everything happened in the daylight was not real? What if what just happened in her dream was true? She was so frightened now and did not have the courage to check it.

Crack!

Suddenly, the door opened slowly with a crackling sound. A tall figure was seen from the door. “What’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare?” a hoarse and charming voice asked.

At that point in time, Hailey burst out into tears once more time.

“What happened on earth?” Edward asked as he passed the warm milk to her. Then he sat down in front of her.

This little girl always considered him to be her enemy. If she were given a gun, she would shoot him without hesitation. If she were given a knife, she would exert all her strength to stab him. She had a very bad temper and had the ability to piss everyone off. Although sometimes he would grow so angry that he was desperate to beat her badly, he would still not do this to her. He knew why she went crazy. It was all because of her father.

But she had been acting abnormally ever since he saw her today. As for why? He had no clue at all.

After he felt her abnormal in the school, Edward had sent someone to investigate everything happened to her in the school. However, the investigation ended up with no answer.

Holding the cup containing the warm milk, Hailey sniffed her red nose. After a while, she replied in a muffled voice, “I miss my father.”

Hailey knew she was behaving strangely lately. And she also knew the reason. It was because of her guilt. She felt guilty for killing Edward and destroying the Zhang Family in her past life.

How she wished she would stop being guilty for the time being. But she couldn’t. She deserved all of this. Even though she already came back at the time where everything did not go wrong, she killed him in the past life, after all. There was no way she could just erase this memory out of her mind.

Edward blinked his eyes which turned a bit darker. He reached out and took the cigarette on the desk. But when he saw her, he put it back on the desk again.

Suddenly, Hailey raised her head and asked, “Edward, can I sleep with you?”
