Gene opened the bottle, and the light aroma wafted out, accompanied by some light herbal fragrance.

"It's a herbal cuisine restaurant of my friend. It should taste good." Gene set the table all by himself: "Taste it. It'll cool down later."

Sean laughed, quipping:"How much doctors get paid? The bonus are linked to patients' mood ?"

Gene did not reply but organized a pile of medical reports at hand and took out a stool to sit beside Sean: "I haven't eaten yet. Let's eat together."

Sean was willing at say something but finally he didn't say anything, feeling somewhat bashful inexplicably. He didn't think too much about it, but just got more and more restless.

Gene got a little distressed, adding a few words as explaination when he handed the chopsticks to Sean: "My family are all out, so I want someone to accompany me to have a meal. I did not expect to embarrass you."

Sean shook his head at once: "No. You are so kind, Dr. Ai. I feel extremely flattered." He smiled at the Gene with his black pupils sparkling in the incandescent lamps.

Gene smiled lightly, suddenly wanting to touch Sean's long and slightly drooping eyelashes gently. Gene was actually a quite arrogant and unruly person out of his means and talent. In fact, he would not consider too much when he took a fancy to someone. But this day, in order to keep Sean for dinner at ease, he was distracted at work rarely and thought about the reasons for all the afternoon.

Maybe he really had a crush on him. Gene drooped his eyelids, stirring the soup in the bowl with a spoon.

"You fell ncomfortable?" Gene asked as he saw that Sean just eat a little, and he deemed that Sean ate that as just a courtesy.

Sean shook his head: "No. It's the same when I'm at home. I have no appetite."

"I have someone looking for the marrow to match you as soon as possible." Gene felt chill when thinking of Sean's illness, not to mention that he was Sean's attending doctor, knowing a lot more about his situation. Sean got the chemotherapy too late, so the treatmen he got at present could not improve his condition, but only suspend his death as long as possible.

Sean thanked him, without too much joy in his eyes.

"Your illness...... Does he know?" Gene restrained his emotion and put forward some tentative questions intentionally or unintentionally.

Gene didn't know if it was just a delusion, but he felt that Sean blached with strong fatigue on his eyebrows. Then Sean opened his mouth with a plain tone: "I don't want to tell him."

Gene did not ask much again as he was sensible that Sean must have his own difficulties which couldn't be said and they two were not so inseparable as he expected.

Gene had no guilt for his will to get invovled in their relationship. He rarely wanted to own somebody. He would feel sorry for himself if he didn't chase the one he liked. Besides, no attempts, no gains. The man was either blind or indifferent since he did never accompany him to have a physical examination when his lover looked so haggard.

"Take less if you don't want it. I'll pick you up tomorrow to get the medicine." Gene did not want to embarrass him, so he washed his hand to take Sean's clothes: "I'm off work. Send you home by the way."

Sean still remembered how much trouble it made when Gene sent him home the last time, so he felt somewhat flustered, but he found that Gene was totally stubborn. He teased when he was finally pressed in the co-driver's seat resignedly: "Girls all want to marry a doctor, but I don't see any strengths of doctors. Are they all as bossy as you?"

    "I know it pleases boys."

Sean was severely astonished. He looked at Gene like conditional reflex, only to find that he seemed to be unmindful of his own words with some frivolity in his eyes which was rarely seen at ordinary times.

"Why you tease me?" Sean laughed.

Gene also smiled and said nothing.

He didn't speak until Sean got off the car. He dropped the window to call his name: "Sean."

Sean paused his footsteps, turning back: "Doctor?"

Gene got out of the car and took the scarf from his neck, wrapping it tightly around Sean's neck forcedly which was exposed in the air. "Go home. I'll pick you up at 2 PM tomorrow."

It was not until the sports car had gone a long way that Sean came to his sense. The scarf on the neck still had the temperature of another person. Sean did not know what Gene wanted to do, as he did not think he had the qualifications to be loved by another male. Besides, the doctor was an excellent man.
