In the No. 1 High School of A City.
It was the time for the midday rest. However, many parents were standing in the principal's office. They were talking and discussing angrily. From time to time, they would bang the desk, demanding an explanation from the principal of that school, Wilson Yan.
"We must be given a reasonable explanation for what happened to our children! Otherwise, we will never let it go even if means that we will have to report this slander to the Ministry of Education!"
"Yes! That's all of us are thinking about! This is a school with a high reputation in A City. I can't believe that bullying actually happened right here to our daughters. We are parents and we love our children with all our heart. How could we feel safe to let our children study here with all this terrible thing?"
"Yes! She must be punished severely! She is so vicious despite that she is still a young girl. I can't believe what kind of person she will become when she grows up. That's incredibly terrible. She will remain to be a shame if she stays here. She must be expelled from this school!"
Wilson Yan felt nothing but a headache faced with so many angry parents. He immediately comforted them and said, "Please, stay calm, parents. I know what you are concerned about. I will deal with this properly. Trust me please. I will never let my students live in fear. No one will be bullied any longer. The school will never cover up those evil deeds."
After he finished his words, he turned to the girl who was standing in the middle with her eyes looking on the ground and scolded with a serious voice, " Hailey! Do something! Come here and apologize to them!"
"What? Apologize?" some chuckled. The office fell silent at once. The parents who had been making noisy sounds shut up immediately. All of them turned their eyes to look at the handsome man. He was sitting on the sofa. Everyone seemed to be a little bit scared of him.
"Mr. Yan, have you heard of a saying, which goes that why would the world needs the police if the apology works?" the man named Jerry Ho asked. He patted his sister, Maggie Ho on her back to comfort her. There was hatred in Maggie's eyes. "My sister was beaten so badly by that girl. Her face was all a mess and she was taken nude photos. That was terrible. I would not be satisfied with only an apology from her! We, the Ho Family maybe are not some kind of extremely powerful family. But still, we are strong enough to do something. Don't you think so, Mr. Yan?" Jerry Ho said again with a smile on his face.
Despite the seemingly kind smile, Wilson Yan broke out in a cold sweat because a kind smile did not mean Jerry Ho was a kind man. The principal immediately responded, "Yes, sure, you are absolutely right. So, what should we do to deal with her from your perspective of view, Mr. Ho?"
Although the Ho Family was not the strongest family in that city, they still had their secret power everywhere. No one would look down upon them. That was why Maggie Ho behaved always arrogantly and aggressively in the school despite there were many other students from powerful families too.
Jerry Ho was one of the most brilliant in the young generation of the Ho Family. He was a very capable celebrity agent. And it was said that his working style was quite close to that of Mr. Zhang - another celebrity agent who was extremely capable.
Jerry Ho took a look at Hailey and found that she was very calm. Being scolded by so many people, but she remained calm. It seemed that she did not care about it at all. What a strange girl, isn't she? Jerry wondered. There was a hint of interest in his eyes. All of a sudden, he asked, "What? I did not see her parents here. So what about now? Are we going to deal with her by ourselves?"
Maggie sneered at that time, "You don't know this, brother. Her father was a driver working for other people. I've heard that he passed away not long ago. Her mother also disappeared ever since then. She doesn't have parents and she is literally an orphan now!"
Hailey made some response upon hearing Maggie's words. She raised her eyes to look at Maggie. Maggie, on the other hand, mouthed to her, "You broke one of my legs, and I will break your arms and legs! You hurt my face and I will make your face torn!"
Hailey let out a sneer and did not talk back. Instead, she turned to look at Wilson Yan and said, "Mr. Yan, you've talked for such a long time. But I'm very curious about whether you have any evidence proving that I hit them?"
This was her first time to talk. But it was not an apology. Instead, she defended herself, refusing to admit that she beat those girls.
Wilson Yan would never show any kind face to her. He scolded again, "Hailey! Behave yourself! Someone saw it! They saw you bullied Maggie and the other five girls in the restroom. The victims also said it was you who did this to them. How dare you try to deny all this?"
Most students who were admitted by that school were born into prominent families. Many of those families donated large amounts of money to the school. But this was not Hailey's parents did. She was just an orphan. Although she had a beautiful face, she was unsociable and she did not do well in the study either. Who Wilson Yan would support? The answer was more than obvious. As a matter of fact, Wilson did not believe that Hailey was able to defeat six students at once time. But he really did not care about the truth.
Hailey sniffed at what Wilson just said to show her contempt. She was sure that there were only her and those bitches in the restroom when she beat them. Where did the eyewitness come from? But she was not surprised to hear those words. She had already expected that Maggie would never let her go that easily after she had beaten her so badly. But Hailey never regretted it. Even if she would be punished badly, she just felt so good when she hit them like that. She was not afraid of the possible consequences at all.
After all, she had been ended up more miserable in her past life.
Yes, her past life… She could not help turning her eyes to look at the clock hanging on the wall. This day was 7th, May 2018.
Hailey clearly remembered that when she was thrown into the pool and being drowned by that bastard, the clock of the hotel rang. It was 7th, May 2028 that day.
That was ten years from now.
She came back to ten years ago – the time before everything went wrong!
She was reborn! That was real!
"Look, Principal! Look at her! She is smiling! How could she even possibly smile after she did those terrible things to my child! What a dreg she is!" one of the parents screamed angrily.
"A dreg? I beg your pardon?" Suddenly, a deep and charming voice was heard from outside the door. Hailey's body shook a bit in surprise. She raised her eyes, staring at the man who walked in calmly. She felt like there were fireworks burning happily in her heart.
Edward! He… He was alive!
This was a man who could attract all the eyes as long as he appeared. He had a handsome face with coldness written all over it. And his aura was strong and overwhelming. People would feel fearful in front of him, yet they still could not resist his charm.
Everyone present knew who he was.
Edward Zhang, a legendary figure in the entertainment circle.
There were numerous rumors about him. Someone said he was extremely affluent in money. It was said that he was rich enough to buy the whole A City. Also some rumor went that he was an expert on doing business. People also heard that he was a very cold-blooded man with cruel means to deal with his business.
There were many versions. But all of those rumors indicated that he was a powerful man. No one should try to mess with him unless he did not want to live anymore.
The moment Edward showed up in the office, everyone felt great pressure. They were no nervous that they found themselves hard to breathe. Jerry Ho, who had been sitting on the sofa, also grew serious. He immediately stood up subconsciously and greeted him with a respectful voice, "Mr. Zhang."
Edward did not cast a look at Jerry. His eyes skipped everyone and looked at the girl who suddenly burst into tears. Seeing her wear wet clothes and the scratches on her forehead and arms, he squinted his eyes and said to his bodyguard who was following him, "Figure out everything."
"Yes," the bodyguard replied shortly before he made his exit.
The principal collected himself and walked to Edward. "M… Mr. Zhang, I didn't know you are coming here. I'm sorry I did not go out to welcome you. Please, forgive me for being rude," he greeted nervously. There were still cold sweats on his forehead.
Edward looked sideways at him and said, "The child of the Zhang Family is being bullied here. I should come, of course."
Wilson Yan's heart skipped a beat when he heard those words. He felt his legs weak and almost unable to stand. He wiped the sweats on his forehead off and asked with a shivering voice, "May… May I know who is her?"
Edward looked at the girl who was gritting her lower lip to stop herself from crying out loud. Then he stretched out his arm and said, "Come here. Let's go home!"
The office fell into deadly silence at that time. Jerry grasped his sister's hand firmly, his face turning dark.
My stupid sister! She said that that girl is an orphan! But what the fxxk? She has a family! he cursed angrily.
