York Gu’s father gave him this decision and handed the tablet to York, said, “Look at the stock price of your own company. It has fallen sharply.” York’s father was always calm and objective. He always gave direct, simple and straight-forward statement. Indeed, there was a drastic decline in the stock price.

In York’s working life, it was not new to see stock price going up and down. However, this time was the biggest clash in the stock price of his company in his working life. He was shock and realized the effect or importance of his action. But at the same time, he was concerned that his father required him to take a rest at home for some time and would be replaced by his brother.

“Father, I can restore the image of our company. Please trust me.”

York crouched beside his father, passing the tea to his father. He kept his smiling face, asking in a begging tone.

But his father shook his head and said firmly, “I have made my decision already. You don’t need to say anymore. My decision is final.”

York knew his father well, so he did not push further but left the living room and went to his room upstairs.

When York got into his room, he lay on his bed in a sprawl, buried his face fully on the duvet.

In the old days, when York was suffered a bad time from his father, he usually vegged in his room to escape from reality which helped him not being influenced by the bad mood. After vegging a while, he would back normal and continue to think in a rational way.

There was a feeling in his stomach saying that what happened last night was a trap. Otherwise it was not possible for so many reporters appeared in such a remote villa late at night. They could all perfectly catch the very moment that he held Nell Su in his arms to the car.

But there was no clear evidence indicating that those reporters came with preparations or under certain orders or directions to take photos of Nell and York together.

When York was puzzling about these questions, he heard that the housekeeper opened the front gate of the house for some visitors.

Then York left his bed unwillingly, got ready to downstairs to greet the visitors. It was their family’s curtesy that all members of the house have to greet visitors, whoever the visitors were, whatever members were doing at that moment.

York walked down the stairs, he saw his elder brother and sister in law, who was going to take his place in the company shortly.

York felt something strange in his heart, but he tried hard to suppress his feeling. He wore a fake smile and gave a hug to his brother. “Brother, I haven’t seen you for such a long time. You have no idea how much I miss you.”

“You are getting stronger now. You were just a young boy few days ago. Look at you, a grown-up successful man is now standing in from of me. ” Tam Gu patted on York’s shoulder, asking him to sit down and have a chat.

York politely took Tam to the studying room.

Though York was not pleasant with his father’s arrangements, he had given great respect to his elder brother since he was young. So, he would not disobey his brother and, from the bottom of his heart, he wanted to help his brother to solve this matter.

When they sat down in the study, York leaned forward to his brother and asked, “My brother, you have to help me out this time …”

“Don’t worry. Can you tell me the reason that our father dismissed you immediately and called me back to take your place imminently? What have you done?”

Tam cared about his younger brother very much and he wanted to help him to gain this position in the company back. After all Tam was not interested in this running the company. He came back to follow the order of his father only.

York gave an embarrassed sigh, then told his brother about the banquet and the news after that.

After hearing this, Tam did not understand the reason that his father was so pissed.

“This incident is not that serious. Actually it can be solved easily. We can just ignore it as if it was fake or had never happened. Why does our father take it seriously and ask me to come back? What’s worse, he even gave you a home confinement.”

Tam could not figure this out. So, he could only ask his brother.

York shook his head and said in grief, “To be Honest, I have no idea. And it seems that our father is so determined to ground me at home for some time. I can’t change his mind.”

Tam gave a sigh and said, “It is what it is. I could not change anything too. Right now, I can only manage the company for you as our father requested.”

“Yes.”

York was a reasonable man. He would not bring any disruptions or troubles to his brother, simply because his brother had taken his place. So, York took his brother to the study and told him the operations of the company and several important projects he was in charge.

Two of them had talked for the whole afternoon in the study. The housekeeper brought them bottles of water a few times. Otherwise, others would think the brothers had died in the study.

At dinner time, their mother asked Tam and his wife to stay a bit longer to have dinner together.

“It’s dinner time.”

York’s mother went upstairs and asked the bothers out for dinner. She told her sons, “You should not mention what has happened this morning in front of your father. Shall we just talk something that can cheer him up, or tell him the recent development of the company.”

“We know that, mom. Don’t Worry. I am here.”

Tam had moved out for a long time and formed his own family, but he was still intimate with his mother just like the time he was young.
