Chance Li suddenly found that Nell had more strength after she got drunk. In some moments, he could barely hold her. He felt kind of awkward.

Suddenly some noise was aroused at the stairs. When Chance wanted to tuck Nell into the room, York Gu popped up in front of him.

“What are you doing?” York stared at Chance with his eyes wide open and asked with a mix of worries and anger.

Chance did not want to pretend anymore. He pushed Nell away slightly and then said firmly, “That’s nothing wrong. Why no one informed me that Mr Gu has arrived in advance? Miss Nell Su is drunk, so I took her upstairs to rest for a while. Is there a problem?”

York snorted. “You? How dare you say that you send her for a rest? I bet you were up to something… on her.”

“What?” Chance answered, “Although I don’t have much relations with women, it doesn’t mean that I have interest in every woman, especially this kind of woman.”

Chance did not say explicitly, but its implication was clearly to humiliate both Nell and York.

Then the secretary came arrived behind York. He felt guilty as well as sorry to York when he saw what had happened. York trusted him to take good care of Nell but he did not do it well, and even worse, he lost Nell.

The secretary was speechless in this situation. He walked through the door and helped Nell to get out of the room, trying to make her to feel better.

Nell felt worse after all the struggle and shout she made moments ago. She leaned her head on the secretary’s arm and fell asleep.

York pointed to the stairs, giving a hint to the secretary that he should take Nell to the car. But Chance Li opened his mouth and said, “She was unwell. Why don’t you leave her in the room to stay for a night?”

At this time Chance wanted to take Nell back from the secretary’s arms.

The secretary stopped him. Chance looked at the secretary in anger. “Who do you think you are? How dare you stop me?”

Holding Nell firmly in his arms, the secretary wanted to say something back, but York stopped him and turned to Chance. “He is my secretary. If you have any problems with him, you can talk to me right away. He works for me only. It may not be appropriate for you to order my, right?”

Before York came here, he planned not to make the relationship with family Li worse, but he found that Chance did not only look down upon him, but also his family. So, it was not necessary for him to play nice with Chance.

York was ready to have a row with Chance but the secretary stopped him. “Sir, you may take Miss Su to your car and leave the rest to me. I will take care of the things here.”

The secretary understood clearly the importance of Li’s supply contract. If the contract did not complete successfully tonight, the company production supply chain may have huge problem. His boss could be compulsive, but there is no room for him to be emotional.

Then the secretary put Nell into York’s arms and asked him to send her back to the car directly. York knew it well that he was not emotionally capable to stay any longer, so he grabbed Nell and walked towards the stairs.

They walked down the stairs wobbly. When they arrived the lobby, York was exposed to hundreds of flashlight.

“Mr. York, is she your so-called fiancée?”

“Mr. York, the lady in your arm doesn’t look like the person you publicized. Who is she actually?”

“Mr. York, why would you join this banquet so late at night? I remember you were not here before.”

“Mr. York, I heard that you were stopped by the security guards for not having an invitation. Is it true?”

A number of microphones were put around York, waiting for his answer. And the cameras recorded every movement and expression that York had. Some reporters were even doing living reports on social media.

York had never thought that there would be so many media friends in this remote place. He did not except that he would expose to the public in this way, especially a young strange lady in his arms.

He knew it for sure that Nell Su was merely his executive secretary.

But how could he convince the public?

In the next morning, when York arrived the company, he found that many people looked at him with an awkward face, not the respect or polite faces he saw usually. Their stares were full of curiosity and gossip which made York thought that there was something wrong with his outfit or his hair. He even went to toilet to check his look thoroughly. However, he was as perfect as usual.

“What is wrong? Why does everybody look at me with that face? Am I too handsome or attractive?”

York whispered when he stood in the toilet and looked at the mirror.

Then York’s phone gave a beep which was the text notification sound.

He took out his phone and found that his secretary sent him a massage, “Where are you now, sir?”

York did not expect that his smart secretary would send such a text to him. He thought there may be some issues in the company, so he answered him at once, “I’m in the toilet on second floor. What is the matter?”

However, the secretary did not reply York’s message which made York curious and worried. When he wanted to ring and ask his secretary, someone arrived the toilet and ran to him.

“Mr Gu, finally….I have finally found you. I have been waiting for you in your office for the whole morning. I did not see you there, was worried about something went wrong with you.”

The secretary went to York in a hurry. While he was trying to catch his breath, he kept saying, “sir, if you don’t have anything urgent to do, I suggest that you go home and take a rest. Don’t show up in the company. You may give me a call, and ask me to do it for you.”
