Carol Li gnashed her teeth with hatred and stamped her foot with fury.

At this time Nell Su chose three decent and elegant suits with shop assistant. “I will have them all. Help me pay for them. I believe you got my size. Please find the right size for me and give me the bill.” She said happily.

“No problem, my lady.”

The shop assistant answered delightedly. Each and every product in this area was expensive and in limited units that the commissions she can earn were the highest. Which means, her commission reward today would beyond satisfactory if these suits were sold. Thinking of that made her heart lifted.

But at this very moment, Carol, walked towards her.

“The clothes that she wants to buy, I will have them all. Here is my card.”

Carol put a card into the shop assistant’s hand. She dared not to offend Carol and ran to the cashier and swiped the card for the suits. The payment was done. Carol bought those suits before Nell.

Nell was quite shocked that Carol could do such childish thing, but she could remain calm. She whispered in the shop assistant’s ear, then took her credit card from her purse and gave it to her gracefully.

The shop assistant went to the cashier and swiped the card. Then she went to the storeroom to take her stock.

Carol was embarrassed and furious when she found that she was unable to get those clothes before Nell. She yelled “Why don’t you stop her? These clothes are mine! Why would you sell them to that country bumpkin?”

Whatever Carol said, the bill had been paid. Nell could get her clothes anyway. The shop assistants had no way but comforting Carol who stared at Nell leaving the store with her clothes with satisfaction.

“I am furious!”

Carol yelled at the back of Nell, “Where did you get all these moneys? How can you afford to buy these clothes? You must have done something dirty.”

Nell planned to go back home without making any troubles but when Carol kept provoking her, she was upset. She halted and turned around unpleasantly. She refuted, “If you say something like that, I can only tell you the truth. York Gu gave me the money and asked me to buy some clothes in the name of the company. Have I made myself clear?”

“Why would he give you such amount of money to buy those clothes?” When Carol heard York’s name, she said with bitterness and jealousy. “I know that woman like you would go to this company only for one reason. That is to hook up a guy like York!”

Nell did not reply the accusation made against her. She smiled and said, “You, little girl, are not as bad as other people mentioned about you. You just have a bad temper.”

After saying this, Nell walked away, leaving Carol there.

“How dares she!”

Carol felt that her position was challenged and threatened. She left the shopping mall and ran to York’s company directly.

As all staff had known Carol was York Ku’s fiancée, no one dared to stop her from rushing toward York’s office.

York was packing up his briefcase files and got ready to leave office. He saw an angry woman dashing towards him. She slammed the door open and confronted York, “Why did you give Nell this bitch such amount of money to buy clothes?”

“You should mind your language.”

It was not a good day for argument. Few moments earlier, York was discontent about some careless mistakes made by his staffs. Even he was calm down a little afterwards, when he heard Carol’s nasty words about Nell, he was upset again.

However, considering Carol was his fiancée, York did not tell her off right away.

While Carol could not hold her anger because she thought York was in a way protecting Nell. She shouted angrily, “Look! Right now, she is more important than I am. You are defending her, are you?”

“Carol…” York put down the files. He stepped forward and looked down at Carol seriously said, “First of all, I have never said that I have any sort of relationship with her. Please don’t overthink. I gave her money to buy outfits simply for the sake of the professional image of the company. You have seen what she wore before, right?” York paused a moment, leaving no chance for Carol to open her mouth, he continued, “Second, you should mind your language. Remember she is my assistant. You should not defame any ordinary woman.”

Carol was speechless. She understood she was overreacted. To solve the situation, she decided to make use of the women charismas to play the coquette

She swallowed her pride and put on a smiley face. Then she turned to York and said softly, “Alright, I know I was wrong. Plase don’t be so serious. Shall we have dinner together?”

“I’m sorry, I have a dinner appointment tonight. Please don’t wait for me.”

York slightly pushed Carol away, keeping their distance.

Carol was quite disappointed, but she knew it was not the right time to ask for more. She decided to leave York’s office.

Carol came back home. She dropped her bag on the couch and took off her high heels, then lied on the chaise longue sadly.

Even though she got an answer from York, she clearly understood that York was standoffish. He even turned down her dinner invitation.

Carol’s brother walked to the living room through the door. Noticed his little sister’s bitterness, Chance Li realized that she must be frustrated by York Ku.

He went to her and sat by her side and comforted her, “my dear little sister, are you alright? what is the matter with you? Please share with me.”
