Xiao Juebai glanced at him and turned around to go into the house.
Actually, Xiao Qing's concern for him was quite unexpected, and he felt pleasantly surprised. At least this showed that the kid still cared about him as an older brother and wasn't completely heartless.
However, he did not like showing his Omega's vulnerable side in front of Xiao Qing. Because he was the older brother, the one who needed protection was his younger brother, who grew up with him since childhood, not himself.
Xiao Jue, in high spirits, lay relaxed on the bed, gazing absentmindedly at the ceiling. Without the slightest trace of drowsiness, he also had no idea what to do and simply remained lying there in tranquility.
After a while, Xiao Qing gently pushed open the door and stood to the side, asking, "Brother, I'm going out. Do you...want to come along?"
Xiao Jue frowned and glanced at the time, asking, "Where are you going this late? And what are you going to do?"
Xiao Jue cleared his throat and absentmindedly touched his nose, feeling uneasy as he said, "It's nothing, I just want to go out and have some fun."
"Alone? Or is there someone with you?" Xiao Jue asked again.
"There's no one else, just me."
Xiao Jue sighed and got off the bed, casually tidying his clothes. He said nonchalantly, "Let's go together then."
Xiaoqing was somewhat surprised, and the belated smile on Xiaoxiao's face nodded in agreement. He rarely went out with Xiaojue, not even a few times a year for simple shopping trips. So hearing his agreement now unexpectedly gave rise to a hint of delight in his heart.
There is an Internet cafe right downstairs from their home, but Xiao rarely goes there and is not familiar with the place. On the other hand, Xiaoqing is extremely familiar with it, even to the point of being a VIP member here. After entering, they don't even need to show their ID card; they can simply press their fingerprint.
At the sight of his appearance, Xiao Jue knew that he often frequented this place. However, she didn't intend to reprimand him and only whispered, "Do you often come here?"
"Um..." Xiaoqing scratched his head, feeling a little embarrassed, and quickly found two seats to sit down.
As soon as they sat down, Xiaoqing immediately turned on the computer, put on the headphones eagerly, and started doing the "real business" in the game. Xiao Jue, on the other hand, sat on the side with a drooping head, not in the mood to play at all.
The reason they came out together was simply because they couldn't fall asleep. Otherwise, he wouldn't have come out in the middle of the night to the internet cafe to inhale secondhand smoke with this guy.
An entire hour passed, and Xiao Jue took off his headphones, coldly reminding, "It's time to go back."
"In a few minutes," Xiaoqing hurriedly said, swiftly retrieving the earphones and putting them back on.
"Five minutes!" Xiao Jue replied with a hint of impatience, his face expressionless. In his opinion, playing games was not completely unacceptable, but one had to pay attention to time and limit. It was not a good thing to begin with, and if he were to get addicted again, it would be damn frustrating!
"Got it, got it!" Xiao Qing banged on the keyboard with both hands, so busy that he even sounded impatient while speaking. Xiao Jue sat there with a stern face, waiting for a few minutes. Finally, when he thought Xiao Qing was done and ready to leave, this kid unexpectedly pushed for more and wanted to play another round.
"Bro, let me have another round!"
"Stop the nonsense and go home!" Xiao Jue immediately vetoed.
"Brother, let me play again..." Somehow, Xiao Qing suddenly grabbed his sleeve and pleaded in a lowered voice. Xiao Jue hesitated for a moment, but remained resolute and firmly refused:
"What are you playing at? We agreed on a few minutes just now!"
Xiao Qing wanted to say something more, but when she looked up and saw the lifeless gaze of Xiao Jue, she immediately shut her mouth.
On the way home, the two remained silent, not uttering a single word. After entering the house, Xiao Jue suddenly remembered something and turned to ask, "By the way, did that scum who bullied you last time come looking for trouble again?"
"No, no!" Xiao Qing said awkwardly. The incident of the fight that day, he only heard about it from others afterwards. It was only in the past couple of days that he found out that Xiao Jue had been suspended from school for getting into a fight.
He felt some self-blame, yet didn't know how to apologize. Every time he wanted to show some concern for him, he would be irritated by his indifferent attitude, leaving him with no patience.
Sometimes, even Xiao Qing cannot fathom what is truly going on in his mind.
