"Stop right there!"
Huolin swung the horsewhip and swiftly charged over, loudly commanding the person leading the way.
The team that was being escorted ahead did not stop, but rather treated him as if he didn't exist.
Huo Lin gritted his teeth in anger, hastening his pace to intercept them. "Chi Jiuchong, I am speaking to you, haven't you heard?"
His voice was cold and combined with his furious face, it appeared extremely menacing.
Inside the prisoner's vehicle, Lou Ling opened her eyes wide and, upon seeing Huo Linshi, stammered out the word "Young Master" before remaining silent.
When he first met Huo Lin, he already knew that he was the Sixth Prince. However, he always referred to him as "Gongzi" ("Young Master"). Huo Lin loved his innocent nature so much that he lavished him with favor for so long and has not grown tired of him even until now.
Hearing this sound, Huo Lin on horseback looked in the distance at him.
I saw that Lou Ling's clothes were thin and untidy, probably due to being caught and struggling with these officials and soldiers. Her fair and delicate face was pale from the cold, looking truly pitiful.
Chizhong, open the prisoner's carriage for this king."
Huo Lin withdrew his gaze and issued an order to the person in front of him.
On the back of a horse, dressed in a gray-white fur cloak, Chi Jiuchong maintained a calm expression while suppressing his disgust for this foolish prince. He politely responded, "I apologize, but it is difficult for this humble official to comply."
Huo Lin looked at him, almost shooting out fire from his eyes.
I have heard of the renowned reputation of Chi Jiuchong, even though he rarely attends court.
This person, at the tender age of twenty, achieved success in the imperial examination and smoothly entered the Ministry of Justice.
Later on, by relying on ruthless and vicious means, he eliminated numerous corrupt officials and remnants of the previous dynasty for the imperial court. The merits he achieved, it is feared that even until early tomorrow morning, they cannot be fully counted.
And now, Che Jiu Chong is even more favored by his father, the emperor. Before reaching the age of thirty, he was personally appointed as the Chief of the Penal Department and entrusted with the responsibility of managing the entire heavenly prison.
However, Huo Lin was utterly repulsed by this person.
For no other reason, just by looking at his face that was pale and mysterious due to not seeing sunlight for years, he felt nauseous. If he were to get closer, perhaps he could even smell the scent of blood coming from him.
At the thought of this, Huo Lin felt nauseous.
Although Chi Jiuchong looks pretty good, compared to this ethereal and cold individual, he still prefers to indulge in the warmth and tenderness of the softness.
"Why are you arresting him?" Huo Lin snapped out of his trance and pointed his horse whip at Lou Ling, questioning loudly.
Chí Jiǔchóng furrowed his brows slightly, pondered for a moment, and then replied, "Convey His Majesty's decree: The performers from the Pingle Pavilion have seduced the sovereign, leading to the prince's misconduct. Their crimes shall be punished with execution by public beheading in three days' time, in order to restore order in the court."
After listening to his words, Huo Lin's anger made him tremble uncontrollably. He looked towards Lou Ling, only to find him paralyzed with fear inside the prison cart, silently shedding tears, unable to utter a word.
Huolin felt heartbroken, gritting his teeth tightly. "What a seductive accusation against the master..."
He glared angrily at Chi Jiuchong and repeated, "Open the prisoner carriage for this king."
Chí Jiǔ Chóng still wanted to refuse, but he heard Huò Lín's harsh voice say, "If you don't open it, I will smash this prison carriage."
This lunatic is really capable of doing such a thing. Chi Jiuchong's eyes turned cold as he stared at him with some caution.
Many years ago, when he had just entered the Ministry of Justice, he heard about Huo Lin beating a fierce general of the court until blood was splattered everywhere. It was all because the other party muttered under his breath that the Sixth Prince was useless and could only act like a puppet.
When Huo Lin learned about it that day, he charged straight to the residence of that fierce general and dragged him to the pond, where he beat him up mercilessly.
This charming king has nothing else but brute strength and a crazy appearance. He either makes people cry for their fathers and mothers in front of him or secretly puts obstacles in their way.
In recent years, Huo Lin has become increasingly dependent on the favor of the Empress Dowager, and his madness has intensified. Others would go out of their way to avoid encountering this deranged prince.
However, now the emperor suddenly issued an edict, ordering her to marry into the general's mansion, and moreover, to marry the foolish and silly young master of the Ming residence.
This madman and fool are truly a perfect match.
