After being kissed by Gu Wanting, Gu Lang didn't have much of a reaction. He simply glanced at her and watched as she held the flower in her arms, with an imperceptible upward curve at the corner of his mouth, as if it were a precious treasure.
Gu Wanting was very happy. It was still her younger brother who treated her well. When she was young, she was close to her younger brother. But later on, her younger brother had to inherit the family business, so she never had the chance to be as close to Xiaolang again.
The waiter helped the beautiful girl in front of him pull open her seat. Gu Wanting calmly sat down, while Gu Lang also walked to his own seat. His gaze was quickly captivated by the beautiful red rose in the white plate on the table.
Underneath a beautifully crafted rose, a card was pressed. Gu Lang reached out and picked up the card, sweeping his gaze over it.
Given to Dear Mr. Gu.
The bold and energetic characters were written without a signature.
Gu Lang, having seen this kind of trick many times, didn't have much of a reaction. He then placed the card back on the tray and glanced up at the waiter.
The waiter made a gesture and brought out a menu, handing one to each of them. "Sir, madam, what would you like to order?"
Gu Lang opened the menu, but he wasn't looking at it. His gaze skimmed over the menu and landed on the glass of water in front of him.
He discovered traces of someone having been on the seat he had reserved, added to that the flowers and card message from earlier, and the noticeably misplaced glass of water in front of him.
A high-end restaurant would not have such low-level flaws. So, there is only one possibility: someone sat here before he arrived, and that person is the one who sent him flowers. Then, how did he come in?
In Gu Lang's mind, there appeared a flash of the waiter at the door cautiously confirming their identities and then secretly wiping off the sweat after leading them here. He felt that he must have missed something, oh right, there was also that strange light at the door.
"Xiao Lang, what do you want to eat?"
Gu Wanting noticed that Gu Lang seemed absent-minded and spoke up to remind her brother about his improper behavior in public.
"Either one is fine, just like you."
Gu Lang replied nonchalantly, then closed the menu. The waiter bent down to tidy up the things on the table, while Gu Lang tapped his fingertips on the water glass.
Gu Lang glanced at the bouquet of flowers that Gu Wanting had set aside, then he picked up the card and carefully examined the handwriting on the message card. "Waiter, did someone just bring a bouquet of flowers over?"
"Yes, sir," the waiter reported truthfully.
"Do you still remember what he looks like?"
I remember, sir." The waiter wiped off his sweat in secret. He had just exchanged a few words with that gentleman earlier, thinking that he had reserved the seat for that gentleman.
"Please serve this friend a serving of the dishes we ordered and also thank him on my behalf, thanking him for the flowers."
Gu Lang knew who sent the flowers. He accidentally saw the black business card on his desk this time, the one he confiscated from Guo Xiaocheng. He gave the business card to his secretary and asked her to order a bouquet of flowers in his name.
"Very well, sir," the waiter replied with a bow, then nodded to the two customers and withdrew to prepare their dishes.
"Xiao Lang, do you have a friend here?" Gu Wanting curiously looked at her younger brother.
"Uh..."
Gu Lang remained silent, his mind now full of calculations, pondering whether his speculation was correct.
If that's the case, then...
The person sending flowers is very likely the same person taking pictures, and he himself is well aware of the source of the fresh flowers. So naturally, this person is very likely to be that abnormal man.
Hmm, why wouldn't he indulge in the pastime that came knocking on his door?
