"Li Gang looked at the three people in front of him, their expressions a bit strange. 'This is a construction site, no entry for idle people.'"
Master Zhang took a drag of his cigarette, "We're here to deal with what's happening, so we can't be considered idle people."
Li Gang's expression became even stranger. "Solve a problem? What kind of problem are you here to solve?"
Upon noticing that he looked uneasy, Zhang Tianshi secretly guessed that something was amiss. Remaining calm, he said, "Naturally, it must be something happening in the tunnel."
Just then, a person walked out of a nearby tent. This person had a strand of goatee and would occasionally twist it with his fingers. He was also wearing a formal Taoist robe and holding a whisk in his hand, giving him the appearance of a Taoist priest.
"The Taoist seemed to have noticed that there were people here. He walked over with a confident and graceful manner, displaying a wide range of aura."
"Muyu and the other two naturally also noticed him."
The Taoist lifted his chin and haughtily asked Li Gang, "What are these three people here for? These idlers should not disturb the people of our mountain when they are casting spells."
Master Zhang looked at the Taoist with a smile that may or may not have been genuine, and said, "May I ask which sect you belong to, Daoist brother? You have an impressive presence."
Li Gang was about to let Mu Yu and the others leave when he heard the Taoist priest start to talk about his own Taoist teachings. Li Gang couldn't help but frown. Yesterday, he received a phone call saying that a superior was sent from above, a leader of the Celestial Master Sect who was a top-notch expert, and he was not to be neglected. However, Li Gang had the feeling that this expert was a bit like a fraud from the jianghu.
I only heard the Taoist's tone fluctuate as he said: "Haha, I am the head of the Celestial Master Sect, under the tutelage of Zhang Daoling, the Celestial Master Zhang. May I ask who you are? Since you referred to the fellow on this mountain as 'Dao Brother', I assume you also study the Tao."
Li Mingyue and Mu Yu both turned to look at Master Zhang. Li Mingyue even took a step forward and whispered jokingly to Mu Yu, "Someone has stolen Master's thunder."
Master Zhang simply smiled and assessed the Taoist, without answering and instead asking, "Master of which sect does your lineage belong to? I am not familiar with your pulse."
The Taoist sneered, "Our patriarch has two disciples, Wang Chang and Zhao Sheng, while you, from this mountain, come from the legitimate lineage of Wang Chang. It seems you're beating around the bush and refusing to acknowledge your teacher. Are you perhaps from some evil cult?"
Mu Yuh could hardly help but compliment the Taoist even though he was a fraud. He had every credential one could ask for, but he just couldn't understand why this old man had been robbed of his position as the sect leader. In other words, this imposter Taoist had made a grave mistake by crossing paths with them today.
Master Zhang smiled faintly and did not speak. He simply took out a credentials book and handed it to Li Gang.
Li Gang received it with some doubts, but upon opening it, he saw there were two big level steel seals marked with red stamps. The first two characters were "Central," which made him startled. He quickly held it up to take a closer look———S-Class Spirit Event Group!
Li Gang swallowed his saliva and already understood everything in his heart. He respectfully returned the documents and waved to call over ten workers.
The Taoist was still holding his chin in a disdainful manner, his eyes were not even looking at the ground. Just as he snorted, Li Gang shouted, "Attack!"
"Hmm?" The Taoist looked at the hand pointing at him, but he hadn't reacted yet.
Immediately, punches like raindrops flew towards the Taoist's face.
The Taoist hugged his head and crouched down, saying, "Ouch! What are you doing? How dare you hit a person from my mountain! Be careful, or my methods will make you all disappear in the blink of an eye!"
The Taoist's silence was preferable, but once he spoke, Li Gang grew even angrier. He raised his hand and landed a punch on the Taoist's eye socket, instantly causing a black eye.
"Ah yo!"
"Are you still daring to fight?!"
"The native of this mountain...ah!"
"The wail and scream echoed throughout the entire valley."
Mu Yu couldn't help but look at the dramatic changes happening in front of her. She couldn't take her eyes off the little notebook that Zhang Tian shi still held in his hand, not yet tucked away in his pocket. What was inside that little book? What made the gang leader instantly realize that this Taoist was a fake?
Just as Mu Yu was thinking about this, he suddenly heard Zhang Tian Shi say in his ear, "Little disciple, if you show me that thing you have in your jacket, I'll lend you this little book to take a look at."
Upon hearing these words, Mu Yu instinctively covered her pocket. She turned her head and saw the inquisitive expression in Zhang Tian's eyes. She pursed her lips and lowered her head to avoid his gaze.
After beating up the Taoist, Li Gang had someone lift the Taoist and throw him away, as well as the bells and other magical instruments inside the tent.
Just as Li Gang was about to throw away the Taoist eating utensils, Zhang Tian shi stopped him and said, "He is also a practitioner of Taoism, we should not act too harshly. Let it go if your anger has subsided, but it's best to return his tools to him intact."
Li Gang looked at the tattered package in his hand and nodded. "The master still has class!"
After speaking, Li Gang accidentally threw the broken object onto the head of the fake Taoist.
Even after being beaten up, the fake Taoist still couldn't figure out where he had slipped up. He had been traveling the jianghu for many years under this moniker, and just yesterday, these people had treated him with utmost respect upon hearing his name. So why did this old man suddenly kick him? It didn't make sense. Oh right, the old man had a little notebook. Could there be something fishy in there?
This fake Taoist priest has a stubborn personality and won't give in even if he's beaten. He needs to know the reason behind everything before he can accept it. After making up his mind, he decided not to leave and instead stayed to observe the old man's techniques, wondering if there was anything more powerful than his own half-immortal powers.
Master Zhang shook his head and sighed. He used to think that those half-baked frauds were tarnishing the reputation of this profession. He ignored these swindlers who knew nothing but cheating people. If he encountered something as trivial as overhearing someone talking, it would be tolerable. But if he ever encountered something truly dangerous, his life would be crushed for just a tiny bit of money and wealth.
"Li Gang invited the three of them into the tent and then began to explain in detail the situation inside the tunnel."
This tunnel was excavated two years ago, and a train track was built in the middle for trains to pass through. However, for some unknown reason, every time the train passes through this tunnel, there are one or two more people on board. But when they arrive at their destination, the number is still the same as when they boarded. Over time, this also became a unique characteristic of this train.
However, in the past six months, there have always been people who see two individuals standing by the tunnel in the tunnel, and then the tunnel would inexplicably narrow, forming a mouth shape that seems like it wants to swallow the train.
Every time when we pass through this tunnel, everyone feels a tightness in their hearts. The staff on the train couldn't bear it anymore and recently reported that the tunnel is too narrow and needs to be expanded. But who knew, that as soon as the expansion work began, accidents kept occurring - sometimes people would hear voices, and sometimes stones would inexplicably hit people.
They couldn't come up with any solution, so they had to report to their superiors. Fortunately, the leader knew that there was a master nearby, and used their official position to transfer them over to see how to solve the problem.
Master Zhang nodded his head after understanding the situation here, "The boy who talks and throws things seems to have no malicious intent. I'll take care of him when I come back later tonight."
Li Gang gratefully expressed his thanks and personally went to fetch three cups of tea, allowing them to rest inside the tent.
Li Gang walked out of the tent and Zhang Tianshi raised his legs and smoked a cigarette. Mu Yu thought Zhang Tianshi would go check the tunnel, but he heard him say, "Let's take a nap first. We can only tell if there's a problem with the tunnel at night, and there are more people every time a train passes. This is quite new."
Li Mingyue disregarded everything and asked, "Master, do you think it's possible that this is a haunted station?"
Master Zhang took another drag of his cigarette and said, "It's not just a possibility, chances are this tunnel is it."
