Chapter 2
They finished dinner already past 7 o'clock in the evening. Although it was still early, it was also a good time to go out and have fun.
The place that was gone to was the entertainment club opened just half a year ago by Tan Shijie. He did it for the sake of its reputation as the no.1 spot in the capital city, where all the trendy activities that young people like, such as archery, electronic sports, bowling, KTV and more, are all available. Even the plush toys in the claw machine in the lobby are Dior's rabbit dolls.
Yang Yanxue's female companion is a sophomore at Beiwu University who is lively and girlish at her age. She acts coquettishly and begs Yang Yanxue to go with her to catch dolls.
Li Zekun and his friends went directly to the KTV private room on the third floor. Tan Shijie couldn't make it to lunch earlier due to some matters, and he's currently waiting for them in the private room playing pool.
"Kun", Tan Shijie threw his bat and greeted him with a smile, "Take a seat. You must be tired after being taken out to play all day, right after coming back today?"
"It wasn't too tiring, just very sleepy. I almost fell asleep during dinner today." Li Zekun chuckled, "I think I've been missing too much sleep. The company in the UK is just starting up and I've been busy with it."
Song Yu also chimed in, "If you're tired, just be tired. The company that you're playing with is now making so much money that even we're envious."
Li Zekun pushed him and said, "Go play on your own, I'll just earn a living, so that you can brag about being a rich guy."
Song Yu didn't take to heart with a playful expression and turned to ask Tan Shijie, "Bro Tan, since Kun is back today, you should also contribute a bit, won't you? We don't need anything else, just a few bottles of your Richard Hennessy to quench our thirst, like beer."
"That's nothing much. I've sent someone to fetch it." Tan Shijie wasn't stingy at all, he glanced at Song Yu and said with a laugh, "You'll see the kids delivering the alcohol later, they're all new."
Before Song Yu could even glance at Li Zekun's expression, the door to the private room was pushed open. Following the servers carrying drinks were over ten young boys and girls.
"Which day are you going to be raided for running a sex establishment, motherf***er?" Song Yu chuckled and gestured around, "This is also considered Beijing's no.1?"
Tan Shijie gave him a disdainful look and said, "Your dog mouth can't speak ivory. If you have the ability, don't pick today."
"I'm not stupid, you know. You paid for us today after all." Song Yu glanced around and pointed to a girl wearing a Japanese high school uniform with her hair in a ponytail. "You, come to pour me some drinks."
There were many people who played together tonight. Some brought their own companions, while others wanted to satisfy their desires for novelty. No one was polite, and they all followed Song Yu to pick a few people.
"Kun, are you not joining us?" Tan Shijie didn't see the desperate eye signals that Song Yu was sending him. Four years prior, Tan Shijie was busy with his company in Shenzhen and was not well-versed in many of the inner workings of the political circles in the capital city.
Song Yu was surprised to find that Li Zekun didn't react much, but instead looked up and glanced over the crowd.
"Hey, come sit with me for a while.", said Li Zekun, gesturing towards a boy who was already being hugged by a member of the prince's party.
The Prince Party will definitely give Li Zekun even this little bit of face, and with sneering laughter, they pushed him out.
The boy that Li Zekun wanted looked delicate enough, his timid and weak appearance quite appealing. Song Yu calmly took a glance and inwardly sighed, no wonder he thought, this child's eyebrows and eyes carry a resemblance to the way Cheng Xia looked when Li Zekun first met him.
"Do you know how to sing?" Li Zekun tilted his head and spoke to the boy, with a hint of tenderness in his tone.
"I don't know...."
Li Zekun laughed and said, "That's alright. Can you pour me a glass of wine, please?"
The boy lowered his head and sipped a glass of whiskey, then leaned in for someone to pass it to him with their mouth. This was a common trick that people used to do after coming out of nightclubs. Drinking the whiskey in a conventional way would just make them look foolish.
Li Zekun gently pushed him away and said, "There's no need. Just pour me a glass and you can stay by my side to help me refill it."
Li Zekun himself unexpectedly had not drunk any less and by the end was somewhat drunk in appearance.
There were people singing in the private room, a duet between a man and a woman singing 'Rolling in the Red Dust.' Li Zekun lay on the boy's leg, humming along absentmindedly to the tune. He pushed his empty cup up slightly and said, "Pour me another cup please."
When the boy was handed a drink, he couldn't help glancing at Li Zekun. He was a very handsome man, with a wild and untamed air about him that had been subdued by weariness and melancholy. His slightly narrowed eyes seemed to glisten with something.
When Li Zekun looked over, he didn't even bother to turn his gaze away. Li Zekun didn't say anything either, only furrowing his brow and reaching out to take the wine, finishing it off with a murmured, "It doesn't even like..."
At the end of the show, it was half past twelve and Li Zekun was drunk. The boy and Song Yu helped Li Zekun out.
When they came out, the hallway was blocked by someone. It seemed like a man was trying to pull a young boy into a private room, but the boy refused and his knuckles were turning white as he grasped onto the door frame tightly.
None of these people are the type to meddle in other people's business, except for Tan Shijie who went and found a waiter to take them somewhere else to make trouble.
Li Zekun's mind was just a bit unclear, but he had not lost consciousness yet. He pushed away the boy beside him and said, "Song Yu...take me home."
The two people in front can barely pass, but Li Zekun, with an unwavering gaze, intends to leave first.
As he passed by those two people, his footsteps did not halt, but suddenly he heard a young boy, who sounded like he was on the verge of tears, shout out: "Li Zekun... Li Zekun!"
Li Zekun suddenly trembled and his steps came to a halt. His lips quivered as he said, "Xia...?'
Song Yu pulled him and said, "Kunzi, don't talk nonsense."
Li Zekun ignored it and punched the man who was pulling the young boy, leaving him dazed. The rest of the group had no idea what provoked this sudden attack from the young master. Tan Shijie was momentarily stunned but quickly followed to handle the aftermath.
Li Zekun disregarded the noise behind him and half-knelt down to gently hold the face of the young man, his tone gentle and cautious, "Are you Xia Xia?"
Song Yu shuddered and looked at the young man's face. He suddenly cursed, "Damn it, Li Zekun, you're crazier than hell!' That face had absolutely no resemblance to Cheng Xia."
