Shawn caught the smell of humans on every floor as he climbed the stairs. Obviously, there were people on every floor.

It seemed that they were so numerous that they had occupied every floor of this building. He had to ask Ed about it. Ed must have known how many people they were.

Reaching the seventeenth floor, Shawn found the door locked. He knocked hardly at the door, and heard Ed’s cold voice, “How dare you people come upstairs? I will send you into oblivion.”

“It’s me, Shawn.”

Hearing Shawn’s voice, Ed’s first thought was the backer was coming back!

“Wait a second. I’m coming.” Ed said and moved outside slowly.

Shawn waited for more than ten minutes before the door was opened. And then he saw Ed who had been wrapped into a mummy.

“Tut, tut! You wound looks much worse than three days before.” Shawn looked at Ed up and down, and let his eyes settle upon Ed’s face, “The face got injured, too?” Ed’s face was fine while he was saved by Shawn before, however, now...

It seemed that Ed had had a rough day during this time. In that case, the stuff he had brought would be more useful.

“Don’t go there.” Ed moved lamely away and let Shawn come inside, locked the door again, and lamely led Shawn toward the eighteenth floor. “I didn’t expect that you would come back.”

“I came back to check what a miserable life you are living.” Shawn had a look at Ed’s leg, and said, “It gets worse? You do have a miserable life.”

“Yeah, pretty bad.” Ed shook his injured leg, and said with a smile, “Goddess, do you become a little soft-hearted, and decide to come back looking after miserable me?”

“Don’t call me that.” Frowning upon Ed for moving too slowly, Shawn got ahead of him and walked ahead, “I’m glad that you lived a miserable life. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna take care of you.”

Again, Ed experienced Shawn’s poisonous words. As if being stabbed, he felt his wound got worse.

Back to the presidential suite, Ed sweated out, lumped down in the sofa, and caught his breath.

“Look at you rookie, I can beat you down with a finger.” Sitting opposite the bed, Shawn looked down his nose at Ed and said.

“What can I do. I am an injured man, and a new wound was caused before the old one healed... Could you please stop being so mean to me?”

“No, I can’t.” Shawn spat out two words.

Ed felt he was hurt badly, and he needed to take a break before he could fight with Shawn for three hundred rounds.

“What about those people downstairs?” Shawn got down to business.

“They came here after you left. They were chased to the hotel by zombies, and then lived here... Probably because they found there were no zombies in the hotel. They have about one hundred people, and at first, the head tried to occupy my room.” Ed said in contempt, “Among those people, there were several who had super power, but could only produce sparks. However, they were rather arrogant, and asked me to get out of the presidential suite. Then I killed a couple of them and scared the shit out of them. Haha, they are just a disorderly mob.”

“Killing people? How could you get over it?” Shawn was a little surprised because ordinary people could not get over the terror of killing people. It appeared that there were doubts on Ed’s identity.

“How could I? It is not like that I haven’t killed people before. You will be emotional numbness once you kill too many people.”

At the moment, the murderous look of Ed made Shawn startled. Fortunately, his murderous look vanished right away.

Ed took a look at Shawn who had been wrapped tightly, and asked insincerely, “Are you scared?”

“Of course not.” Shawn covered his feelings and said, “I just wonder how it feels to be wounded by a disorderly mob?”

Again, Ed was choked. He couldn’t help looking at Shawn’s face, wondering what look on his face there was. However, he saw nothing but the reflective light from his helmet.

“Your friends know you have such a sharp tongue?” Ed asked hopelessly.

“Of course they know.”

Ed was speechless.
