“It’s okay. Nothing serious. I tripped,”
Alyssa said to the others with a smile, rubbing her hurting knees.
“Come on, guys. Sing. Have fun!”
she urged in a feigned playful tone.
Hearing this, her colleagued were convinced that she was fine, and returned to their entertainment.
The throbbing in her knees made Alyssa bend the upper part of her body. She was afraid that she couldn’t even stand up right now.
Everybody else seemed to be engrossed in their activities. Alyssa frowned and gnawed at her lower lip. A retaliatory plan was brewing in her heart. She was determined to get even, no matter who was present at the party.
The woman was holding the MIC, singing a love song. From time to time, her gaze would land on Aaron. The wine-red tight, strapless dress she was wearing accented her slender legs and high breasts. It must be hot if she falls, Alyssa thought, sneering inside.
She never wore dresses or high heels after work. Being a hothead, Alyssa got into a fight easily. Dresses and high heels were definitely not helpful at all in a fight. She wouldn’t be able to run fast or move around freely. An accidental flash was likely to take place. Thanks to her devil-may-care attitude to life, carried away in the fight, she probably wouldn’t even notice it. Therefore, she had few dresses in her closet.
Alyssa struggled to get to her feet, trying to ignore the pain. She walked awkwardly to that woman, but a smile was on her face all the way. She grabbed a microphone and started singing with that woman.
The woman glanced at her. Contempt and coldness were plain on her face. But Alyssa didn’t care and maintained her smile. You want to dance? Let’s dance!
When the song was over, the others cheered, applauded and whistled.
The woman smiled shyly and put down the microphone, intending to go back to her seat, but Alyssa stretched out one foot. She didn’t even bother hiding her intent. Many of her coworkers saw her do that.
Paula, however, didn’t see it and tripped. Before she fell to the floor, Alyssa caught her by the waist and pressed her against the wall, giving her a kabedon.
Alyssa’s left hand was put on the wall, her other hand grabbing Paula’s waist. “Be careful, doll. It hurts if you fall. I know,” she said with raised eyebrow. Her tone and posture were dripping with flirtation. She was acting like a female hooligan.
The pressure and the evil smirk on her face made Paula nervous. She panicked.
But Alyssa didn't think it was enough. "Babe, you're so hot," she whispered in Paula's ear.
Then she lowered her head and stared at Paula’s breasts.
Paula was shaking with fright. She felt that Alyssa was hitting on her as a man did.
Paula pushed her away and walked quickly to the bathroom. Alyssa stood straight and gave an unfathomable smile.
Callum saw everything.
“Impressive. Mentally menacing her. That should frighten her more than a real fall,” he commented when Alyssa sat back beside him.
At this point, the music in the private booth had stopped, so the room was a lot quieter than a moment ago.
She replied, “I’m not afraid of fighting. Nor am I afraid of scheming or pretending. Mess with me, then you get burned. I’m no pushover. Once provoked, I’ll get my revenge.”
There was a trace of threat in her voice. Everyone present heard her. What a special way to tell people who she was.
