“Guilty? I never knew what guilt was.” Owen sat up in his bed by himself, rubbing his temple with his hands. When he woke up, he felt the fever going down and he was much better. He was too lazy to explain these trivial things. Anyway, Ethan would soon find that his so-called reasoning was not true. Instead, he would have a ‘guilty mentality’ toward him. Owen had already begun to figure out how to use the guilt to let Ethan be ‘easily convinced’ and agree him with his… his willing like a wedding which could tell everyone their relationship.
Owen was a person who paid great attention to the sense of ceremony. He thought that life would be in a mess if there was no ceremony. According to the data, many couples ended up and went their separate ways due to a lack of ritual.
“Is it?” Ethan dropped his cell phone on the sofa and the screen showed ‘Game Over’, so he finally had time to look back at Owen.
“Have you slept well? If you had enough sleep, you can leave.”
“Are you so ruthless? If I left like this, would the headline of the news next day be that ‘President Han Was Swept Out by His Husband Late at Night’?”
Ethan grinned, revealing two neat rows of white teeth. “Owen Han, would you like to have another try?”
Owen didn’t care too much. He said fluently with kindness, “Sorry, Ethan. But don’t you think it’s really an appropriate time? How about we make a deal?”
“Don’t change the subject, Owen Han. I’ve given enough concessions today.” Ethan rubbed his eyebrows anxiously. “We went to the Civil Affairs Bureau during the day, I borrowed you're my bed for the whole day, and I called the doctor to give you an injection. I won’t do anything else if you asked me again. Don’t push your luck, Owen Han.”
Ethan didn’t know why he would get angry with him. The feeling of grievance was really too uncomfortable, if he did not release, he would go mad sooner or later.
“Ethan, can I ask you a question?”
“...”
“Are you,” Owen frowned, as if thinking about how to say it better, “so disgusted with our marriage?”
To be honest, Ethan’s reaction confused Owen. Before this, his idea was to find an appropriate person to live with and live an ordinary life, because the affections could be cultivated. But Ethan’s point of view was obviously not in line with him. He should prefer to find the right person who was in love with him.
Was this the so-called generation gap? Owen questioned his decision for the first time. Was it right or wrong for him to hastily connect the fate of them? Maybe he should cook frogs in warm water and cultivate affections with Ethan.
“What do you think? Owen Han.”
“Well.”
“And what do you want to do?” Ethan put his legs down from the table, he sat up straight involuntarily and looked alert.
Owen laughed and felt that Ethan really looked and acted like a timid Persian cat. “Don’t be so nervous. I just wanted to get back to the topic. Give me a year, if you still think that we are not right for each other, and then we could get divorced. I don’t want anything, and I’ll give you half of all my assets as compensation for you.”
“What do you do this for?”
“For you.”
