“It was Mr Gu you taught me this.”

Nell Su laughed and responded.

“No no no.” York Gu continued, “How can you say this? It’s nothing to do with me. When did I teach you this? Clearly you learned it from others. You are not the innocent assistant I used to know.”

They got along with each other more harmoniously. It made Nell feel good. Breaking a glass and hurting herself was rather good for her.

Seeing that Nell didn’t feel nervous anymore, York went back to his seat. He seriously said, “So, I think you should know the reason I left the company.”

“I am ready to hear it. Please.”

Nell hinted York to continue.

York sighed deeply and said, “At that time, I didn’t expect things would happen in this way.”

York told Nell everything without hiding or fine tuning the incident. He knew that after Nell had known the truth; it would bring some pressure to her. But he believed that it will be spread or known one day. So he decided to tell her the whole story.

After listening to what York said, Nell sat there with surprise and jaws opened. She could not managed to say a word.

At the very beginning, Nell had never thought that her own behavior would affect others, especially a person like York. Nell never knew that her own mistakes would bring troubles to such a strong mind person like York.

But it did happen. Nell couldn’t hide from it but to accept it.

“I…”

Nell thought for a while and said, “Mr Gu, first of all, I need to apologize for this. I never knew that my behavior would put you in big trouble. I only thought of myself. I didn’t think for you. It was my mistake to lead to such consequence. It might be late for me to apologize now. Still I need to say it to you.”

York saw Nell’s serious face and said, “Do you know why I need to tell you this today?”

“I don’t know.”

Nell planned to say that she thought York wanted to make her feel guilty. But she thought it twice. Nell knew York wasn’t a stupid person like this. So she couldn’t figure out why.

York leaned forward and grabbed Nell’s shoulders firmly, “Do you think all I want is your apology? No. I just want you to know something. Besides, one more important thing I need to tell you.”

“What is it?”

Nell did not find it inappropriate to ask this way.

York put his face closer to Nell and said seriously, “Today I went back to the company and checked. My authority had passed from me. My brother took all the power. I’m a powerless person in the company now.”

“What?”

Honestly the reason that York left the company made Nell moved. But the fact that his power had been taken had made her panic.

Nell hurriedly asked, “Mr Gu, how do you know this? And why your brother wants to take all your power and authority? Is that he has already known that you will come back and he wants to test you?”

“How do I know?” York reluctantly rub his temple, “If I know it, why would I bother to ask you to drink with me?”

He found that when Nell was panic, she would become talkative and asked some meaningless questions.

It disturbed York. But talking about his worries to someone him a little better.

And he found Nell cute as Nell was cared and worried about him.

At least he knew he was not alone.

It was good to have such feeling.

Thinking of this, York slightly smiled.

Nell noticed that. She was even more worried, “Mr Gu, why are smiling? Are you making jokes at me? If I were you, I would be anxious.”

“You are just too young. You can’t have great achievement.”

York stood up and glanced at the table. He counted the approximate sum of money, then took out some money and put it on the table. He grabbed Nell’s hand and pulled her up from the chair. Then carried her in his arms to leave the pub.

“What?”

Nell was trying to answer York’s comment, a second later, she was in York’s arms.

“Put me down… Put me down…”

Nell looked like an injured deer. She tightly held York’s neck with her red face. She buried her face on York’s shoulder and said in his ear.

“Your legs are injured. How can I let you walk?”

York said it seriously. But the little demon in his heart knew it clearly. Today he did want to flirt with Nell.

York was always curious. Nell was fully concentrated on work. What her private life was? How she would react if a man was flirt with her?
