When I left the studio, it rained heavily outside.

I wouldn’t have thought that it would rain when I left this morning. Looking around, it seemed that Bob wasn’t nearby and I didn’t have time to save his cell phone number yet. Therefore, it was impossible to call him to send me back. The road was so empty that even those active taxis in normal times disappeared.

It rained and rained. I looked at the sky sadly, for a while did not know how to go back to the hotel.

“Waiting for the bus?” It must be Jeffery, according to this familiar voice.

I nodded and said, “Yeah. It’s not that easy in rainy days you know.” I regretted what I said at once. As you know, Bob told me in the morning that Jeffery drove today. I said that as if I was asking for a ride.

Sure enough Jeffery suggested, “Are you going back to the hotel? I’ll go back there, too. It’s on my way. I mean, I’m supposed to give you a lift. What do you think?”

Looking at the heavy rain, it didn’t mean to stop. What’s more, I only wore a thin skirt today, which made me shiver in the cold. If I still refused this only alternative at this time, I must have been crazy!

“That’s very kind of you!” I said in a hurry, “Thanks a lot!”

At this moment, Jeffery’s assistant just drove the car to the gate of the studio. Jeffery opened the door and made a gesture of “Please”.

I didn’t refuse, just sat down in the back seat. He closed the door; perhaps he was afraid that I would feel embarrassed, so sat down at the front seat.

I didn’t speak all the way; so did Jeffery. The rain outside was loud, on the contrary, in the car was extraordinary quiet. Since the roads were very bad in rainy days, we kept driving off and on. Seeing that we were both in silent, the assistant began to complaining about the bad roads as well as the poor driving skills of the driver in front of us.

It was not a smooth journey indeed, so as we got back to the hotel, it was all dark.

Arriving at the door of the hotel, I thanked Jeffery’s assistant and was about to get off. Jeffery suddenly said, “I was right in this hotel, or let’s go up together?”

I quickly shook my head and said, “No, no. I mean, I may go out later!” Before he could answer, I got out the car and went straight to the hotel with a flash of speed.

To be honest, no matter how I tried to adapt, I still felt strange to be with Jeffery, which made me uncomfortable and even a little depressed. So, I would not choose to stay with him unless I had to, in order to avoid the feeling of suffocation.

I remembered Bob once told me that although this hotel was not of high grade, it was still equipped with perfect equipment in all aspects. As for the star rating, it was all because of its elevators, which seemed to be too less due to retaining its architectural style.

After hearing Bob’s words, I thought the cast was living a very good life. Because of the star rating, hotels with this kind of configuration would be much cheaper than those of ordinary ones. On the one hand, it did save expenses; on the other hand, it would not treat the actors shabbily.

As for Yuki, a pop star, she was surely reluctant to live in such hotel and even had a quarrel with the cast, but finally compromised due to director Zhang.

    Soon I suffered the pain.

Look, now I was waiting for the elevator with anxiety, when I turned back, I sew Jeffery coming to me. Looking around, I couldn’t find any entrance of the stairs, whereas elevators were still climbing up. I was at a loss—no way to escape.

I murmured to myself, “Why did you arrange me to live in the same hotel with these pop stars?! Why not choose a hotel with more elevators?!...”

Jeffery stood beside me before I could stop. “Mary, you haven’t leave yet?”

I had to nod, “Yep, the elevator didn’t come. We can go together now!” I didn’t feel good. Look, Shirley, you are not yourself after changing the body.

In the past, I could refuse whoever I wanted and said whatever I liked, but now as Mary, I should speak out such words which disobeyed my heart. I had changed.

All of a sudden, the green exit sign came to my eyes—stairs?! I coughed and said, “I’ll walk up to my room, it’s really a good way to do exercise! I just can’t wait for the elevator.”

    “Di! Floor one.”

    Unfortunately, the elevator came down.

Jeffery went in and invited me, “Come here! God bless you, so does the elevator.”

Hearing that, I couldn’t choose but agree.

I was blaming the bothersome elevator when Jeffery pressed the button of “the tenth floor”. What?! Why does he follow me?

Warily, I moved closer to the door and planned to rush right to my room as fast as possible later. I could also get rid of embarrassment. Perfect!

    “Di! The tenth floor.”

I rushed immediately but he still followed me. I stopped in front of my room, so did he.

“Why did you always follow me?”

“Follow?” Confusion reigned him. Then Jeffery burst into laughter, “No wonder you’ve been avoiding me! Sorry, but I didn’t mean that.”

“Hey, you’re walking too fast.” It was his assistant. Then he noticed me, said, “Mary, what a coincidence! A good neighbor is better than a brother far off!”
