Nell Su felt that she had said too much. Seeing nothing changed on York Gu’s face, Nell felt at eased.
She hoped that York wouldn’t dislike her for what she had said just now.
Finally, they finished their dinner without too many accidents.
After dinner, Nell thought that York would send her home, but York took her to the famous bar street instead.
“Do you want to have a drink?’
Nell concerningly looked out at the car window. This was her first time to come to the red light district and it would probably be her last time to visit this kind of place.
Unexpectedly, Nell did not get excited about the atmosphere of the red-light district. Instead, she felt kind of unpleasant.
However, York did not notice Nell’s strange face as he was too focus on driving. He said in a flat tone, “Actually, I am in a bad mood lately. So, I invited you out to have a drink and chill out for a while. Can you stay with me?
“Of course, I can…”
Nell hesitated for a while. She accepted his invitation.
She thought she trusted York without doubt, willing to follow him whatever he asked. However, she wasn’t.
Nell still worried that York would do something to her when she was drunk.
While thinking about this, Nell found that how could she think about this.
Why I would become such person now?
Nell shook her head and restlessly looked out of the window. She tried to avoid York’s sight.
Hearing Nell’s answer, York was very happy. He drove the car to the bar that he often went to and left the car to the parking assistant. He walked in the bar with Nell.
When York was not happy, he would take his friends to this bar and drink. So everything was familiar for him.
“What do you want to drink?”
They found a corner seat. York looked up and asked Nell.
Nell blankly shook her head. Honestly, it was her first time to go to a var for a drink. So, she didn’t know what she should order. She looked at York blankly.
Thinking for a while, York ordered the sparkling wine for Nell and a pint of draught beer for himself.
York looked at Nell for a while, then put his chin on his hand and asked, “I think you don’t really like this place.”
“Not at all…”
Nell shook her head to deny this.
Honestly Nell didn’t like the bar. She thought that only bad people would come to such places.
“Then why don’t you talk?”
York took Nell to a pub for chill out. There weren’t many people in it. It was not noisy at all. There was no dance floor or dance music. People only came here to drink and talk.
York thought that Nell wouldn’t often go to a bar. So he took her here. He didn’t expect that she would feel so uncomfortable.
But he didn’t feel guilty or sorry about this.
Because everyone needed to grow up one day. He couldn’t always live in a romantic dream or his mother’s hug.
York didn’t know why. Sometimes he would be disturbed by Nell’s behavior.
Probably because Nell grew up in a dull environment which deeply affected her and made her a rigid person. She was not like those playful women around York Gu.
It wasn’t said that York didn’t like innocent girls. He simply felt that this word wasn’t a good complement for a girl. It could be interpreted as stupid.
Nell didn’t know York thought in this way. She continued to sit there blankly.
When the bar tender brought them their drinks. They started to have conversations.
“I heard that your family didn’t want you to go back to the company, did they?”
Hesitating for a few seconds, Nell asked in a careful way.
She didn’t know that York asked her out mainly because of this matter.
York frowned. He sharply looked at Nell’s eyes, “I want to ask for your view. What do you think why suddenly I quit my job, and then my brother took my place?”
“I have no idea.”
Nell gave an honest answer which made York bored.
But after drinking some beer, York felt better. He tried to tease Nell, “Why are you so frigid? Can’t you just have a wild guess?”
“Emm…” Nell thought again with a frown. Then she tried, “Perhaps…Because you didn’t reach the quarter target that your father set for you. Is it?”
“Oh…”
Now York believed that Nell put all her attention on work. He was more curious about her.
“It has nothing to do with the work. Guess again.”
York wanted to pour one more cup for Nell. She stopped him, “I… I really can’t guess it. And I can’t drink anymore.”
“You only drink a little. Why can’t you?”
York just took the glass from Nell and poured the beer for her and said, “In the future you would need to drink. If you behave like this, you can’t do business anymore. All businesses succeed at dinner tables.
