The weather was not cooperating. Maybe God didn’t think Jasmine was pity enough, and it started to rain heavily. Every raindrop wasn’t falling yet, but pouring down. It looked as if God was holding a basin full of water and splashing.
"Bang! Bang!"
"Boom!"
With two big crashes, followed by a sharp explosive noise, two trucks collided and exploded. Passengers gathered and took photos, but none of them came to help. Nobody thought of calling police and ambulance, either.
Running with her bag above her head, Jasmine was attracted by the explosion. Seeing a crowd of people gathering together there, she thought there must have been an accident, and rushed toward them.
As expected, two trucks had been a wreck. Fortunately, the rain was so heavy that fire caused by explosion didn’t last long, which significantly reduced the possibility of secondary explosion.
"Excuse me, please let me through." Jasmine didn’t want to manage at first. However, seeing everyone being busy taking photos and posting them on their Moments, and a few trying to help but hesitating, she didn’t want to walk away. She was determined to save those people! A few suggest she mind her own business and be careful she might be blackmailed. But she insisted, and saving people was her first priority.
Walking to the heads of the two trucks, Jasmine realized how bad the result was. Winding blood was flowing from the driver’s cab of the two trucks, and then was washed and cleaned by the heavy rain. The two drivers were in coma, and there was a large piece of broken glass sticking into the thigh of one of them.
Jasmine stared for a while, being sure that it wouldn’t cause further harm to drag the drivers out, she vigorously pulled the door which had already been damaged open, and slapped the driver’s face to see whether he could wake up. Fortunately, he woke up, and crawled out of the truck in danger with the help of Jasmine.
Seeing that he was not badly hurt, Jasmine stopped bleeding for him and immediately went for the other. The other was hurt so badly that he could not wake up no matter how hard Jasmine called him. She had no choice but to drag him out slowly and carefully in order to avoid touching his wound and causing secondary harm. While Jasmine was trying hard to save people, Edward was anxious looking for her.
Listening to Brad, Edward asked the driver to turn around and look for Jasmine. But the driver said it would take a long detour to go back. Getting worried, Edward got off the car and started looking for Jasmine on the way back.
However, things happened out of expectation. It was sunny and cloudy at this moment, but the next moment the rain poured down. Edward was so anxious that he kept calling Jasmine, but nobody answered. Fortunately, his cellphone was waterproof. Otherwise, the cellphone would have already been useless.
While trying to call the police, Edward saw the crowd. He shrank and wondered whether bad things happened to Jasmine. Disregard of complaints of the crowd, he rushed through the crowd to the accident scene.
"Jasmine! What the hell are you doing?" Said Edward. "Do you know how dangerous it is here? Even it is hard to cause secondary explosion in heavy rain, you shouldn’t have come to save people so recklessly! Can’t you call 119 and 110?"
Edward came to Jasmine and scolded her to her face. He had been looking for her all the way, worrying that she might have an accident. Unexpectedly, she had put herself in danger!
"Apparently, I’m saving people! However, my hands are full, and the cellphone has already been soaked and broken. How could I call 119 or 110? Come over here and give me a hand. Otherwise, walk away!"
Jasmine didn’t want to waste time on Edward at all. She pulled the man out in safety after all the trouble. However, he had lost too much blood, and the broken glass piece sticking into his thigh could not be pulled out without consideration.
Being at her wit’s end, Jasmine ignored Edward. "Oh, Edward! Maybe his cellphone still works." Jasmine thought.
"Edward, is your cellphone still working? Call an ambulance right now if it works!" Jasmine looked at Edward, and feelings of dependency from the bottom of her heart made Edward blush. However, it cooled down immediately under actions of rainwash.
"I know it clearly, and I’ve already called it." Siren sounds of police cars, ambulances, and fire engines came from far. The crowd got out of the way, and someone recognized Edward at the moment.
"Is that Edward?"
"It looks like him. It is unexpected to see him here!"
"Edward is so kind and helpful!"
More and more people recognized Edward, the way cleared was blocked again by Edward’s fans, and more and more people came looking on. A few brain-damaged fans even came sheltering him from rain, and asked for an autograph photo. The way was fully blocked and vehicles could not come inside.
Edward, who had always been soft gentle to fans, turned cold face and said angrily, "Get out of the way, please! The two drivers’ lives are in danger. Please don’t block the way, and saving people first!"
Fortunately, fans listened to him. The way was cleared after a while, and even some fans helped police maintain order. So the rescue was running smoothly.
As a witness, Jasmine was prepared to go to the hospital with police and the ambulance. Worried about her, Edward was ready to accompany her. However, some people hanging press cards on the chest came from nowhere and stopped them.
Jasmine staggered and almost fell down, but Edward was quick of eye and deft of hand and steadied her. He found her ankle swelling, which must have been cause while saving people.
Edward’s face turned colder, he carried Jasmine up, didn’t feel like handling those reporters, and got on the ambulance through the way. It was inconvenient for reporters to stop the ambulance, but they would rather not miss such a breaking news.
Those who had cars drove their cars, and the rest grabbed taxis. The reporters followed the ambulance to the hospital. A motorcade formed on the way to the hospital.
However, Edward, who was not in the mood, didn’t care about it. He called Brad, asking him to handle these stuff.
