After she had changed into her dress and shoes, Chloe stood before the mirror and watched herself in a perfectly fitted dress, feeling some inexplicable happiness. It was like tailor-made specially for her, everywhere was exactly where it should be, V-neck, A-hemline, very comfortable around the waistline. Its style was simple but the fine workmanship and fabrics already made it impressive. The silver high heels matched the dress perfectly, only her hair cut was not good enough.
Chloe walked before Christopher’s car holding her own clothes in her arms and went in the back seats. She kept an intentional distance from Christopher.
Christopher looked at Chloe in the white dress and was convinced now that Vincent had given the right size of of her underwear. In this dress, they did look quite big.
He didn’t make a fuss about which seat she should be sitting in the car and drove directly to a hotel, where she would, technically speaking, have some makeup on and her hair done in there.
They walked past a changing room after entering the hotel and Chloe was surprised. She was fooled of course! There are places for changing!
Chloe saw Christopher exchanged some basic greetings with several guys, who then walked towards her. They carried her by her shoulders and have her face cleaned, then started to put on make up. Chloe watched herself become prettier and prettier in their hands and marveled at the greatness of the cosmetic techniques.
Clear eyes, fair tender skin, and her simple and retro Greek up-do made Chloe looked even lovelier and more charming. It was such a bring-out of her native intelligence.
Christopher smiled. He reached out an inviting hand, which made Chloe flush. With slight shyness she gave him hers.
The two of them stood before the mirror and looked a perfect couple. Christopher wore a white suit and Chloe a white dress, the flowers in her hair brought out the sweetness of her.
The makeup artists and hairdressers couldn’t help applauding them.
"You two look like a newly wedded couple, the bride seems to be a bit shy!" teased the Hairdresser. Chloe blushed to her ears, her hands held tight by Christopher.
They said goodbye to their little helpers and went back to the car, then drove all the way to the charity auction.
Chloe felt nervous and almost sprained her ankles in her high heels but thanks to Christopher, he steadied her in time, put her arm around his and comforted, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
Chloe raised her head to Christopher when she found he was looking at her too,so gentle and tender, with warm smile around his lips, like a prince, totally different from what he usually was.
Chloe gazed at him, her mouth slightly open, her eyes so clear and innocent.
Christopher stared, with some inexplicable impulse to kiss her. Just when he moved his face closer, Chloe suddenly realized something.
"Oh, um..." she cleared her throat, blushing, it was awkward. Christopher smoothed a lock of her hair back, then smiled and kept going.
"You are really cute."
along the way, Christopher came across some acquaintances greeting him, most of whom were successful entrepreneurs in the city, while some were daughters from some wealthy families, and when they met young successful men like Christopher, some greetings and mild flirtations were always necessary. Therefore, Chloe had the great opportunity to witness their eye-rolling and nose-sniffing.
