Chapter 7 Tricks under the Table

They looked at each other. His eyes were so deep and meaningful.

Jane looked away and said with Jack, “I should leave now.”

Jack nodded and stood up from the chair. He seemed to be so elegant and deliberate.

She walked to the door as usual, but her eyes were still cast on William. William did not look at her but staring at Jack.

Jane’s intuition told her that the relationship between Jack and William was not good.

When they walked pass each other, William scratched her legs with finger unconsciously or consciously.

It was so ambiguous and passionate.

Jane was quivering and she was angry, but she hid it.

The door was closed soon after she went out.

She bit the lips when turning her back to the door. She prepared to have something to eat when she calmed down.

However, what she cared was that what kind of character she should have to live in such a complicated wealthy world.

After some dessert, the dinner began.

William and Jack walked out of the room, and Mrs. Swift asked William to sit beside herself. The seat on the other side of Jack was taken up by Moon, so Jenny had to sit beside herself.

Jane happened to sit beside William and Mrs. Swift looked at Jane with complicated eyes. Then she smiled, “Blake’s ladies should have much more food. You are too skinny.”

Moon hurried to answer, “We will. Thanks, grandma.”

Jenny served Mrs. Swift with a piece of vegetable and she said innocently, “Grandma should also have more, so you could be in good health.”

Mrs. Swift was so happy for these words and she nodded. She was extremely happy.

Jane intended to say something, but Jack said, “We should not talk while having meals. Let’s have a meal quietly.”

There were so many rules in the wealthy family. They would have a quite meal when there was Jack.

No one would dare to talk when he said something like that.

Mrs. Swift did not agree with him and smiled, “There should be no rule for the banquet. Will, do you have a girlfriend?” William who was having a meal turned his head and looked at Mrs. Swift. He replied gently, “No, I am still available.”

“It is heard that your game company is going to be listed, so you should deserve with special girl for your social status.” Mrs. Swift said with emotion as if she warned that Jane and her sisters should not have any relationship with him.

Jane had a meal quietly and she said nothing.

Jenny and Moon could not help looking at William. They had their own thought.

Jack said nothing and he, same as Jane, had the meal silently.

“The company is cooperated with others and it is not a big company. Besides, it is just listed, so everything is still a mystery.” William said modestly. His legs under the table leaned against Jane’s intentionally.

Jane suspended the hand with chopsticks and her legs moved subconsciously. However, his long foot leaned against hers.

However, she could not show angry for so many people being here.

There was a strange middle-aged man sitting beside Jane. He was the elder of the Swift family, so she would hit his legs if she kept moving.

“You have been so tough for these years. The game market is so promising, so it must be good with your ability. However, you are not young, how about introducing some girls to you if you believe in grandma? Good girls deserve best men, so do good boys, because the circle of our Swift family is different.” Mrs. Swift smiled kindly.

These words were for the three Blakes. Jenny and Moon did not care about it, but Jane felt so uncomfortable.

William smiled but there was coldness in his eyes.

No one could sense something different with him, but Jane sitting beside him could feel that he was unhappy.

However, she forced to ignore her, but she could feel that William was so unhappy for these words.

“Of course, I do believe in grandma, but I hope my marriage could be free since I have been so busy, that I have not tried it.” William replied gently and tenderly, and his tone was low and natural. He seemed to wear a smile.

Mrs. Swift was guilty for him and she was embarrassed to ask for more, so she had to smile and nodded, “You are right, but you should find someone who deserves your love. One should match your education and thinking, and her identification should match yours; or you would have no common topic in the marriage life.”

Jane listened quietly and she knew that grandma was talking about their three girls.

William nodded and he stopped talking.

People started to chat when they almost finished the meal.

Mrs. Swift talked with William about the company, while Jane pushed the hands of William of her legs. She was so angry, but she could not show it.

“As for our company, it is short of hands really, especially the Art and Customer Service these two parts.” William talked with Mrs. Swift while tricking with Jane under the table.

He could answer well when he was distracted.

The leg was played by him and Jane held the hand of William to stop it.

William changed the direction and held her slim and soft hand. He rubbed her back of hand with finger pulp. While the other hand was resisted against the table. He looked at her subconsciously and retreated his eyes rapidly.

“Jane.” Mrs. Swift asked Jane when she focused on holding the hand of William.

Jane was shocked and she released the hand. She looked at Mrs. Swift with her beautiful eyes innocently, but William became more powerful to hold her hand.

The people around the table looked at her and her heart was beating. The whole person seemed to be in guilty conscience.

Mrs. Swift looked at her strangely and she asked her with a straight face, “Do you learn art?”

Jane nodded quickly to cover her nervousness. She said embarrassingly, “What I learn is not game drawing, so it may be useless to the company.”

William looked at her and there was a message in his eyes, “Am I asking you to help me?”

Jane was embarrassed and retreated the eyesight. She bit down lip.

“One of my friends learn it and I could make an introduction.” Moon said it at the right time.

Jane said nothing and looked down. She was struggling for getting rid of William. She was so anxious and angry at this moment.

“No. Jane is welcome to our company if she wants to come to join us. It is good since you have art foundation.” William deliberately called the name, Jane, ambiguously, which embarrassed Jane so much.

Moon who was rejected looked bad, but she still smiled politely, “Okay.”

“I have no idea.” Jane rejected it directly otherwise Mrs. Swift would think that she would have something with her grandson.
